As Vukota would say, "Are you hitting the morning sauce?"
I was thinking that worrying about giving up draft picks now to acquire players is really a mute point. If the team falls apart they will recoup draft picks and more later no? |

Maybe it’s time to route for the Flames. I mean they are contenders with a proven GM.
Probably much better for your health - nyisles7
Hell lets get silly here May I should just root for the Rangers. Again, people reading what they wanna read and not what is in black and white.
Why is it so wrong to be critical of a group that has struggled and not won anything of substance since 93. This team has not even won a division. It is okay to be critical of a team that has not achieved anything.
Yes, they have achieved some level of respect in the league but that is not worth a dime in Chinese. If you are satisfied with that okay. But I am of the opinion that they can do better.
Regardless, at the end of the day I will still be rooting for this team that I have been doing since 75. |

If your asking me no.
Now on to the team. Again I think it’s important to see what this team has left before trading players for assets and or trading assets and the future for that player or players that bring you the cup. Because 9 times out of 10 it doesn’t work.
Isn’t it the smart thing to do at this point? 2 years of long runs and then a non PO season with your HOF coach who was a big part now not coaching.
For me I think it’s the right move. If you continue to trade the future away it will only make an eventual rebuilding harder. Now if there’s a hockey trade that makes the team better now and the future then by all means do it. For me Kadri at 7x7 would not have been that deal. Sometimes it’s tough to realize what you have and may not be the same team it was even a couple years ago. Maybe it’s because of age, chemistry or just fatigue. Let’s see what the team give us at the start of the season and that will dictate which direction Lou and the staff will take. Of course Just my opinion. |

Because honestly this ownership and Management has only been in place 4 years and has given the fans more to cheer about and team success than in the 25 years before them. Take a breath and take an honest evaluation what’s been done since their arrival and you’ll have to agree. This team was a laughing stock before this group arrived and now it’s actually respected among the league. I get fans are emotional and that’s great however the internet craziness and constant Doom and gloom is absolutely exasperating. I’m not only referencing HB but all the fan base internet sights.
Route for the Rangers and you will regret it when we raise the cup🙏🏻🙏🏻😂 |

Totally agree. Each season is different which makes the start and anticipation always fun.
Not a lot of changes but hopefully a healthy team with two signed goalies and some maturing young players can make it happen next spring. |

These are probably the same fans that if Lou made a huge trade they would still say how horrible he is or if he signed someone then they would say to much money and not worth it. Some fabs don’t understand it’s a marathon not a race |

Off-season summary as of today through my rose colored eyes. Lou very likely in on JG and NK but couldn’t overcome JG’s unforeseen fondness of Columbus OH and wouldn’t pay the price to get NK - which frankly I’m relieved based on what he was signed for. There were a few signings and trades that occurred that I wish he was more involved in (dismantling of Chicago and Trochek come to mind) but who knows why he didn’t get involved, or maybe he did and couldn’t come to terms.
At this point I think there’s a slim chance he makes a trade and ultimately we will ice the same team as last year, with Romanov addition, and see where we are. Additionally, we no longer have Trotz, who ultimately may have been his best move since taking over. And we now have Lambert, who is an unknown as a head coach. Will this be similar to trotz leaving the caps under Reirdon and be a flop or is Lambert a more seasoned, ready coach? |

I think you nailed all the questions that need to be answered. That said I think they come out on their toes with something to prove and be in the hunt come the TD or you will see a different roster come 23-24 and maybe a new GM although I’m pretty sure they will give Lou the rebuild. |

Jonathan Dahlen is a player Islanders should consider if a trade can't be made. He will cost little too nothing and had 12 g 10 A 22PTS I 61 GMS in a limited role last year. He was a RFA and sharks chose not to sign him. He started off strong getting 7 goals in his first 15 games. He than hurt his shoulder and was used mostly on 3rd or 4th line. Could be 20-25 goal scorer if given the chance. Lou running out of options. |
