The Oiler’s “Decade of Darkness” may have given me a high negativity tolerance?
Cause this poop is tame compared to that. |

Well we’re talking about Kadri potentially wanting a 7 year over fifty million dollar contract and how that would most likely not be that great of a thing. Speculating. Who knows if it’s true or not. Nobody does. But if that’s the contract would you be happy with it? |

Frankly I’m hoping they lock him up for 10 years. No need to be relational on here |

Might as well. I mean, actually I just hope Lou stays status quo and brings back the team that was 8 games below 500 last year, factoring in OT losses. If only we didn’t have the road trip, Covid, injures, etc. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna grab myself a thin mint or possibly a samoa. |

So… What you’re saying is if we sign Kadri to a 7 year over 50 million dollar contract you’re good? Seriously would like to hear your answer to this one. - Cptmjl
I was honestly just trying to be funny. The ideal contract from a logical side of things would be a 3 yr deal. We all know that Kadri would not accept that.
Sorry you try and up the monies a little bit and get him to bite on a 5 yr deal. But we all know the monies will not work.
So you are left with doing nothing or over spending on a 7 yr deal were logic and history will indicate that you will maybe get 3 good yrs maximum. Thus leaving you with a cap nightmare for the next 4 yrs. This is all predicated that the player stays health.
So while I think the team needs to make a move. This deal if made will one not push the team over the edge like the Goring, two cost us potential young players/ draft picks and three put the team in the same boat it is currently in.

Gotcha yeah agreed. Pretty much stated the same thing. I think Kadri would be a good addition. I think he makes us a better team short term especially if we were able to add a legit winger on top of him. BUT Kadri alone doesn’t push us over the edge himself imo so to me it seems like a pointless signing that could potentially hurt us long term IF these rumors are true and nobody else is added. With that said who knows what Lou gets done so it’s just something to speculate about on a thread that is designed to do exactly that. That seems to upset a certain someone for some reason. Poor little guy. |

After looking at the contracts awarded so far in FA, I wonder if Kadri ends up signing a similar deal to Andrej Palat, 5 years at $6M per. Very similar career numbers and age. I’d love to see something similar to that. Also, of all the contracts signed so far, only two were 7 year deals - Gaudreau and Trochek. So we got that going for us… |

We just grab on to the latest thing we all read and run with it on here. For all we know Lou can lock him up to a 3yr 12 million dollar deal
Doubtful I know but none of us have a clue what’s going on and the more this drags on I realize neither does anyone else |

I may be completely off but I think that Palat contract is a reasonable one to use as a comparable offer for Kadri. They are both basically .67-.69 PPG players over their careers, same age. Obviously we have to wait and see but I really hope Lou doesn’t have to go too much more than that to land him. |

And now we can add 2 assists to Räty’s goal. - Wildschwein
Does he stay at C in the NHL? |

Maybe?
I mean, just for poops and giggles…
Lee-Nelson-Palmieri
Beauvillier-Räty-Barzal
Parise-Pageau-Wahlstrom
It’d be a fun, fast and skilled second line, but almost certainly 2/3rds defensively braindead. |

He’s certainly making a statement so far. Isles Staff has to be pleasantly pleased with his tournament so far. |
