Take it as you will, ideally with a grain of salt:

Trusted NHL insider John Shannon said he expects the other shoe to drop this week, which includes the New York Islanders trades and finally making the Nazem Kadri signing official. National Hockey Now family has already tied the Islanders to Montreal Canadiens on the NHL trade market, but several teams are known to be interested in Anthony Beauvillier.

I plan on lasting till 2028 so I kind of care about having an extra 7 million dollars in cap space rather then a player who more then likely will be contributing little to nothing at that point. I have a real hard time relating to this “logic” and other then Kelly Mcrimmon, along with their ownership, who destroyed the Knights chances of competing this coming season I don’t think anyone shares it.

How anyone can look at our current situation and think, “Yeah let’s keep doing this, it works” is beyond me

Edit; yes a positive with Kadri is he doesn’t cost any assets. That doesn’t mean you screw the pooch with a contract that will maybe be viable for half its term.

As nice as the two long playoff runs were, it gave a warped sense of this team. Those runs happened under very unique situations. The Cap matters and not having high end prospects matter especially when you cannot sign quality FA's. Kadri would be a nice add but Kadri alone is not enough especially when the Isles do not have the talent of the Avs.

I guess it depends on how bad the Habs want Beau. They’re going to have to move out some salary, not back to us, to make it happen. Lots of moving parts.

I agree for the most part. I highly doubt it’s just Kadri we’re adding being that we’re most likely losing a winger, or two, in this process just to accommodate whatever it is we sign him for.

Yeah I'm not seeing the match with Montreal either, unless there's a third team involved for them to clear salary. The do have Florida's 1st round pick next year though.

Dunno about that. The Habs organization houses some intriguing prospects, in addition to picks.

I believe he’s referring to their salary cap restrictions and having to move it out to another team besides us. I know some on here believe salary means nothing but here’s yet another example or does.

Sounds like one of the top UFAs of this summer, Nazem Kadri, is finally getting off the market 👀

If this is legit happening I assume it’ll be a multitude of announcements coming.

Lots of Flames fans on twitter think he is going there. Something about Kadri's cousin putting the flames logo on his FB page last night

I’m told the ⁦@NHLFlames⁩ are working on a potential deal to move C Sean Monahan, and… The ⁦@NHLFlames⁩ are signing UFA C Nazem Kadri. ⁦@espn⁩ ⁦@NHLNetwork⁩ @NHL #HockeyTwitter

Good call Vukota, now I'm fully confused

If we end up with Monahan I'll stab Lou in the dick

It will Be interesting to see where Kadri ends up....

If the Islanders sign him : "Way too much $$ and way too long.. wtf is Lou thinking.. old man is an idiot... "

If they don't it will be... "Lou sucks.. Old man missed out again... Joke"

Good for u... you have zero idea what the Cap is going to be in 2028. You have zero idea where the Islander's are going to be in 2028. Zero idea if we are even having a season given the politics going on in this world... " it's the Zeta Variant"
"Hyena Pox shuts down all travel...and sports." etc.

I could care less about a UFA cost in 2028.

Yeah and neither do you so you don’t sign a 32 year old player to a 7 year fifty million dollar contract. Obviously Lou agrees

Lou states that he has been assured by AB and Bailey that they will have all-star seasons. No need to be traded.

Barzal and Dobson have signed 15 yr deals... They will retire as Islanders.

News about Kadri is out of left field. Lou's BS is just that BS.
