On one hand I'm happy that Lou didn't commit 7 years and big money to a 32 year old.

On the other hand, I'm beyond confused as to what the plan is going forward here

Nothing.
The plan is and has been the same. Nothing. Run back the same team as last year (without Chara[maybe] and Greene) because last year was an anomaly. To some degree I'm ok with that. I'd still like to see them get a true sniper. We'll see what happens.

Mayhaps he has other deals in the works, but the other GMs wouldn’t commit till Kadri chose a destination.

If he signs a 7 year almost fifty million dollar contract with the flames then I’m totally fine with not signing him. Never wanted that. But yeah wtf is going on. I would say we’re pretty damn close to the;

I assume we offered him the same and he chose Calgary. Amazing how Calgary lost two of their best players and will still compete next season. Have to give them credit. I certainly don’t like kadri’s contract, wouldn’t have like if he wanted to come here, but in the short term they will have a good team. That’s after losing Tkachuk and Gaudreau
