Looks like Vegas is still over the cap with Lehner going to LTIR...
so unless they move out salaries, they will have a hard time bringing anyone in. |

I agree with Cooleus pretty much. Lehner is risking injury every game he plays and has to be slowest goalie in the league side to side. Good glove and big body are his assets. That being said nobody has mentioned checking to see if L. Ullmark is available from the Bruins. He signed in Boston to be the starter and then Swayman came along and is ready to be the number one. There were rumours of Ullmark going to Edmonton last year but how maybe just rumours. I would love to see Linus in Vegas. - joegreif17
Bruins window to win is now, evidenced by Bergeron and Krejci signing bargain deals with the cap eating into the following season. Zero chance they trade Ullmark, leaving them with Swayman and nothing else. They will run this as a 1a/b duo and take one last run at a Cup. Next offseason, half their roster is UFA so that will be a better opportunity to trade Ullmark as part of a retool. Nice try. Not happening. |

Okay Kevin..Who or what would the Sharks get back in return?Since Vegas will be in Win Now mode and everyone will be getting older by the day, if I was Grier I'd drive a hard bargain and ask for a 1st and a 3rd or Either Brisson and a 3rd or Zach Dean and a 3rd |

Jets should be asking what they’d pay for Helle? |

Lehner ain’t that hard to replace. Thompson would do a better job. There I said it. |

I said that it would be a hard bargain.....if he is the best available according to Kevin and we know that Foley desperately wants to win a Cup before he dies, how much is that worth now versus later on in a few years? As Eugene Melnyk found out, you aren't promised tomorrow. |

MAF is money. But Dubnyk is 18 months younger and has a better career save %. .914 versus .913. Duby”s phone ringing in 3,2,1…. |

They roll with Thompson and tandem they have for a little while, see what they have. 20 games in they can reassess. If they are in the playoff hunt in Jan, they should make a move then.
And they will be able to pick up SJ goalie on waivers early in the season. |

Blessing in disguise. Can’t win w him anyway and he is terrible for the locker room. Slightly above avg goalie w a very below avg brain. Most overrated / overpaid goalie in the nhl and the guy thinks he is Carey Price. |

Would there be any interest in Carter Hart? Flyers are not smart enough organization to even contemplate moving him; obviously would depend on the return..
Hypothetically what kind of return would he garner |

Can Varlamov go 54 plus games? Maybe Stephenson is ready to jump ship, he had a nice year going until they turned to Eichel.

Why is Lehner being described as a critical member of the team? He's an overpaid, below-average NHL starter, who is often injured, and frequently an off-ice distraction. Having him on LTIR is a bonus. A great opportunity to see what Logan Thompson can do - FYI he had far better numbers than Lehner playing in front of the same roster. Broissot is turning 30 this season so it's not like he's some awestruck 22-year old. If he's healthy, then they run a tandem of Thompson-Broissot. If they are worried about Broissot's health, then they bring in a cheap vet. The Sharks likely end up trying to sneak Adin Hill through waivers, so that's an option. But seriously - Lehner a valuable player? Haha. Maybe 3 years ago. - Cooleus
This.
Vegas is celebrating Lehner being out. They’ve been shopping him around but no takers. This is great news. |
