CHL puff piece on the Hawks draftees who played in the league last year:
https://chl.ca/article/ch...e-chicago-blackhawks-2022 - LAHawk
Funny how they say that Del Mastro excels on the offensive side, where virtually everyone else says the opposite. He did break out points-wise this past year, but his bread and butter has bee defense. |

I fear he becomes Phil Esposito. - rpeters01
Dach could certainly rise up and prove his doubters wrong. From my point of view, I never got the feeling he was all that good at reading the ice or the situation around him. He would simply skate into the zone with the puck (which he is pretty adept at doing) and then try to figure out what to do next.
I would say he ends up becoming more like Blake Coleman. Still very important to a team, but known more for the defensive side than point production. I would guess he will average about 35-40 pts/season. Nothing to sneeze at, but not setting the world on fire either. |

If they'd had these young pitchers five years ago they would have saved a lot of bad moves and been in the playoffs or contending every year. Geez what a plan. Man genius here 9 years didn't develop one pitcher. That's hard to do if you aren't trying. - rpeters01
Yea but they said they were targeting position players because the difficulty in developing a pitcher and them staying healthy is very rare. So it does kind of make sense |

In all fairness the QB is a rookie. - rpeters01
2nd year player but yea he has so much to learn considering he was learning inspite of the previous coaching staff. As the kids say now, he can really spin it |

For all the Pronman fans: he ranks many of your other team favorite youngsters behind Lukas Reichel.
Nuff said on his lists... - wiz1901
And Pronman has Florida's Lundell ranked right after Riechel! Interesting cuz Lundell from the looks of his rookie season as a 20 yr old, put up 44 in 65 playing 3C on FLA's shutdown line and on the #1 PK for a squad that won the Presidents Cup looks to be one helluva player.

As Boiler noted before regarding Pronman's article:
This is a ranking meant to show who I think will have the best pro careers, not who I would take in a game tomorrow....
...This list is my opinion of who I think will become the core NHL players from those draft classes; we’ve had the benefit of time to see how some of them have developed.
Indeed, it will be interesting to see who are the key players from this draft. I'm personally interested in seeing what Dylan Holloway and H. Lapierre end up doing. |

I wish under Richardson the players are told not to try the play where they do a drop pass to a teamatte who has built up speed and who gets the puck between center ice and the offensive blueline. Never a fan of that play.
Thoughts on this... - jhawk59
Well yeh that sounds like a play designed to go offsides - they tell that to kids even - like as in literal kids .... headman the puck -unless you are talking about that vastly overused 'push 'em back entry play that tries to put the defence on its heels) -but usually that is used as a powerplay entry.
It's also too common - I guess it was an alternative from the dump and chase, dig it out of the corners that the Hawks used forever - but I guess, you know, actual working probably should be a factor.
I tend to agree with your view Jayhawk. |

that can only happen if
B Bobby Orr is 18 and on their negotiating list
b) Ken Hodge and Freddie Stanfield help fillout the Montreal Roster.
Obviously thee was a soon to be happening Dach resign and the participants had good ideas where that was going, and sendinging him elsewhere (including the hot bed/hive of alll hockey heart and pulse in Has land, where you put upon shut up.
It might be a blessing long term. StanBo's lucky lotto win extends its' use to the 2021 draft...thunk about aboat that,,,a lotto win added Ammon got redraft in 2022.
We need goal scorers in the next drafts, in the top three rounds. |

The Hawks future teams are so far away from specifics like this... 'push 'em back entry play will happen, but the guns have to be there to place the puck in the net, cross your fingers. MF,... |

And that strategy got them in the playoffs five years and one WS title, probably their best run in over 80 years. |

Like I've said before they were good to soon and couldn't layer the talent in the minor league properly to win several championships, really can't blame them though.
I hope KD is patient, Kings started getting some of that success early and kind of in no mans land on what to do. I hope as we begin to get some of that success he just keeps layering that talent in the draft for 2-3 years to really have a hardy system to go along with NHL success. Kind of what the Hurricanes are doing. |

Why are the Kings in no man’s land? They have one of the top farm systems, and only have 3 players that matter (Quick, Kopitar, Doughty), over 30, and can possibly win their division. |

Lots of rumors last season about them wanting to make a move, they did the right thing, but will that still be their course this year? For me if i were the Kings no matter how well they perform i would still not be giving up any futures just yet. I have to imagine the temptation will be very difficult |

Go get em Hawk fans: https://www.hockeybuzz.co...n/Patrick-Kane/291/118560 - Mr Ricochet
I don’t see Kane waiving to go to Columbus. Even with the addition of Goudreau and Kane, they still would be a bubble team, I thought Kane if he wants to leave is to go win Cups |

Hopefully they know enough not to do the automatic go offsides play because some yutz got fancy and did a drop pass upon entering the O zone ... ... but I might be overly optimistic ---mind you - it would assist with the tank -so I mean there is that. Ok- you have another point, Wiz -well played.

I'm not sure who wrote that rumour -was it Cheech, or was it Chong, this time.

Kane is going to Calgary for Lucic and a 6th. The Hawks might include Johnson and improve the 6th to a 5th. |
