There is that old '60's song where a guy says " I like dreaming, because dreaming can make you mine."
So we can use that logic about two good centers turn up
on our doostep.

You don't see a chance, that's it's not wild eyed dreaming, that the Hawks draft top 3 two yrs in a row? |

I’ll take top two in 2023, and wherever the chips(balls)end up in 2024 is okay by me. We just need to get one of Bedard/Fantilli and go from there. |

Draft Bedard or whomever in ‘23, then leave him in junior/college and there’s a chance they draft high again in ‘24. |

That would be ideal but still no way of telling how long ownership will stick with a total rebuild especially if attendance/revenue plummets. Two yrs in a row drafting top 3 probably means a terrible club, will ownership tolerate 3 horrid yrs in a row?
Or draft top 1-2 or 3 two yrs in a row and maybe top 7ish for a couple yrs? We know KD has a plan for stinking but we don't know how long Rocky will be good with that.

If Bedard is drafted, and plays at the NHL level fans will come out to witness the rookie sensation. If they trade Kane and Toews this year then we could still suck next year with the possibility of drafting top 3. Also i don't think you'll really see a significant attendance drop anyways have you been out by 1901 w Madison, it's a far different area than it was around 2000's. |

They could be on the Mag Mile but if they regularly get poop pumped at these prices for tickets I don't see them selling too many tickets.

They're smart last year and prior they lower them as the games get closer. That's why i wait last minute to buy mine
They even had a promo buy the tickets and get something like $25 or $30 dollar concession stands vouchers, i remember seeing them at Costco last year |

Dots, you make a really good point, that I didn't, if they indeed land Bedard even though they will stink folks will buy a ticket just to see him. Fantilli not so much, besides this regime's short track record shows they will be patient bringing guys up to the big leagues so good chance Fantilli plays two yrs at Michigan before becoming an NHLer.
Little to no chance if they land Bedard, a probable generational player, they send him back to jrs. He'll be with the big club and folks will come out to see him. Getting Bédard over a Fantilli type will buy the rebuild another yr or so as far as ownership souring on it. .........Two yrs in a row drafting top 3 is realistic. Three yrs in a row drafting top 5 would be outstanding.
And yea, been to the UC plenty. Have had season tix since 08/09 although I've more or less passed them on to a bud who has a group of 4 or 5 that share them. |

Well there is no option to assign the AHL, and I honestly dunno if 2023 eason leaves much room except toe "develop" in the dub, but I think they sell UC tickets big they are kept up.

From NBC Sports Chicago. Perfect timing for Christmas.
Former Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa is releasing his memoir “Marian Hossa: My Journey from Trencin to the Hall of Fame” on Nov. 8. The book was co-written with The Athletic’s Scott Powers.
Hossa will look back on his early years in Slovakia, his journey into hockey and his rise to NHL stardom. He played 19 seasons with the Ottawa Senators, Atlanta Thrashers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings before winning three Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021.

Brent Seabrook named Player Development Coach of the Vancouver Giants of the WHL.
And Ben Pope of the Sun Times has an interview with Kyle Davidson in which he reports KD has a congenital heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot and has had multiple open heart surgeries. Didn't realize that. |

Does this make KD eligible for LTIR if the Hawks develop cap space issues in coming years? |

Wow. My ex-wife had that. When she had the surgeries in the late 70’s the expected lifespan was areound 30-35 yrs old. Obviously the procedures get better over time, but it’s not a minor thing. As the name implies, it’s four separate defects of the heart. |

Thanks Rico. So out of these 89 contracts, who had the best WAR to salary ratio? None other than our very own Rodney, but he was just average, or so they say. |

Some "dog days" updates from Pope:
The Jack Johnson signing, which gave the Hawks six established NHL defensemen, will provide a “good presence in the room,” Davidson said. But it won’t block prospects like Alex Vlasic, Alec Regula and Ian Mitchell from earning NHL playing time.
“They have to earn their spot, and we believe they’re going to put their best foot forward,” Davidson said. “We know injuries happen, we know opportunities arise, and there’s going to be plenty of that along the way.”
The Hawks are still waiting for firm health updates on Jujhar Khaira —who finished last season on injured reserve after February back surgery — and a “couple” other players regarding their readiness for training camp, Davidson said. |

Draft Michkov and the Hawks can be terrible (and draft well) until the 26/27 season.

Same players as last year. minus deHaan and Gusto adding J. Johnson. Couldn't be much worse than last year. Lets see if it is the players or the system.
