I think you essentially pronounced des noir, which I think means of the Blacks, or Black folks.
Like, Elliot Des Noir would mean Elliot of the Black Folks.
Maybe someone with better French can correct me. - PT21
Noyer - walnut tree - Des noyer several habitational areas of France
Noyer not noir |

The hiring of Tortorella tells me it is not. - MBFlyerfan
Agreed! They could have gotten anyone and for less money. I really think Chuckles and co think they can squeak into the playoffs and all will be good.

Disagree. Majority of the fan base are Flyer fans. Not hockey fans per say. - furio16
I completely agree with that. Not sure what you're disagreeing with. As if if true hockey fans can't be Flyers fans and one in the same. Most are going down and paying that money to see their hometown team play.

“True” hockey fans follow the sport. Flyers fans follow the Flyers. I am taking about the ones who go to the games. |

The context was the comparison between the guy who just enjoys the atmosphere and has a good time with his buddies at the game versus the fans who are there for the hockey and care about the performance of the team. That's who I'm labeling as true hockey fans

He seems to have worked out his skating issues as well. I don't see any issue with how he skates. - MBFlyerfan
His skating is fine…he’s filling out and stronger then he was. Great seem pass …he’s a got great vision and a very high IQ. If they can get a full season out of him this year(injury wise) he should take another jump. Fantastic shot…good size…definitely has a chance to be a good one. |

I do agree with your point though and saying true Flyers fans would've been more accurate.

But tanking for this year is not tanking long term, Torts is not a factor for this years tanking. A lot will have to go right with Torts for the Flyers to not be a bottom 10 team |

Are we still arguing about the same stuff?
No one is questioning where is ellis? How his training is going? Is he "ramped" up - ready for camp?
Bill has the attention of the team yet we decide to spend our days arguing about if Sean C is a first-line center or if Nic D brings value to the PK.
This team is a shipwreck and as fans, we complain about the seating chart for the captain's dinner.

When discussing who the team is catering to as fans, it's safe to assume that they would cater to the majority. - MJL
Really? Because I think the majority want a rebuild.
And Fletcher gone yesteryear.
They aren’t catering to the fans.
That should be absolutely clear |

Hard to do a rebuild with some of their contracts. To me that’s what makes this summer a head scratcher. They had opportunities since the firing of AV to do a aggressive retool….they could have moved on…but appear content with bringing back the band. Aggressive retool or Rebuild ? This idiot did neither. |

Disagree. Majority of the fan base are Flyer fans. Not hockey fans per say. - furio16
Totally agree with this. The flyer fan base is average at best imo as far as “ real hockey fans” goes. They are flyers first and only or at least 50% imo.
The problem that arises is philly is a huge market. Team with history. So the average flyer fan only is such a huge pool to draw or tap into that on ice direction does not have to be priority
Want proof?
Look no further than the success of gritty experiment.
Honestly I actually thought of going to game and just watching gritty without even looking at the ice.
Philly is essentially a sideshow org.
To any real hockey fan they are a sad pathetic laughingstock. |
