Are we still arguing about the same stuff?
No one is questioning where is ellis? How his training is going? Is he "ramped" up - ready for camp?
Bill has the attention of the team yet we decide to spend our days arguing about if Sean C is a first-line center or if Nic D brings value to the PK.
This team is a shipwreck and as fans, we complain about the seating chart for the captain's dinner. - corduroy
Their uniforms suck.
So move on from them while they're at it too.

Just think, Chuck waived NAK last year instead of one of our other fourth line scrubs that have a history of being on waivers or not re-signed. NAK goes on to be a decent bottom sixer for the cup winner, then signs for 1mil with Toronto to fill that same role with them. We kept MacEwen, Brown, and added Nic D. NAK can at least sometimes move the needle, Chuck gets rid of him for nothing and keeps and/or signs some of the worst players in the league to make our fourth line. Which will probably block other young players from getting their chance.

Hard to do a rebuild with some of their contracts. To me that’s what makes this summer a head scratcher. They had opportunities since the firing of AV to do a aggressive retool….they could have moved on…but appear content with bringing back the band. Aggressive retool or Rebuild ? This idiot did neither. - landros 2 This team really has had a run of bad GMs and that's why they have been bad now for the last decade. Homer wasn't bad at the beginning of his tenure, but he regressed and left them in cap hell. Hextall fixed Homer's mess, but did little else and now the clown of all clowns is currently running the show. It's like they have gotten progressively worse with their GMs. At least the Pens were smart enough to hire Burke to babysit Hextall. I was chattin with some Pens fans the other day and they said that Burke was behind their trade deadline moves while Hexy was asleep at the switch as usual. FIRE CHUCK! Thanks! |

Totally agree with all of this Phillywhiteout! Each GM in some way has screwed the team. Cue MJL to tell me I'm an idiot bc I dared to include his boy Hexy in the mix. Chuckles is definitely the worst! |

Let me know when Chucky misses on the next Bobby Orr. Then we can discuss who is better or worse between him and 27. |

So they fired Hextall because progress wasn't made fast enough. Held press conferences over multiple years saying that they want to be relevant. Want to be a cap team and want the GM to have an action bias. Hire Fletcher and he proceeds to trade youth and draft picks. Caps the team out with older players. Hold more press conferences saying they're a handful of players away. Spend millions on high level coaches. However now they're going to reverse course and Fletcher is going to brilliantly without informing the fans, put the team in stealth tank mode? - MJL
Let’s be clear. They fired Hexy cause progress was not made. There simply was no progress. Not the speed of his progress, but the complete lack there of.
Not to say I love or even like Fletcher. He is like a bad vs of Clarke or Homer, both of whom made some terrific trades, but were crazy impulsive.
Either way, had Hexy drafted properly and listened to his scouts when drafting Patrick, he may actually still be here. But dictators gotta a do what a dictators gotta do.. |

Your comment is factually incorrect. It's pretty funny when someone starts with "let's be clear" and then follows with an inaccurate comment. |

It doesn't have to be a majority. All it does is to be equal or greater than the # of informed fans (as exemplified by Tomahawk and his ilk who might get pissed off at illogical hockey strategy) and that would still be a revenue adding step.
99% of your posts are reactions to someone. 90% of that 99% is critical. That makes for 89.1. And 90% of that time you have misread/misinterpreted/or at best, not given the poster the benefit of possible meaning before you post, which rounds to about 80%.
If it is beyond your capacity to correct this, which I think it is, could you not blindly just delete 4 of every 5 posts you make? That would make the remaining posts of sufficiently quality to make you an average poster on this site. - PT21

Anyone have access to this?
Also Fletcher voted worst GM. Former GM Hextall voted 27. The last 2 GM's in the bottom 5 of the league. Nothing more needs to be said. - furio16
For those who dont subscribe:
So … this wasn’t even close. Flyers fans are angry and the sheer ineptitude is easy to spot from the outside. The Flyers’ total score by its own fans was 0.6 points lower than the next worst team and the team’s report card is straight D-minuses. There is nothing currently redeeming about the way the Flyers are doing business. This wasn’t a small group of fans either. The Flyers fan base had 1,000 respondents, the fourth highest of any team. The Flyers faithful are mad and they want it to be known.
They’re a bottom-five team that is somehow over the salary cap. None of their contracts are easily moveable, making it impossible to sign an elite homegrown talent that might have actually moved the franchise back in the right direction.
There is nothing positive on the horizon here — it’s a big mess that will not only be extremely difficult to clean up, it’s a big mess that was almost entirely preventable when each major decision was made. The Flyers are what happens when a person superglues their hand to a wall because they think it’ll help them climb it. Now they’re just stuck. |

Homer's last couple of years as GM were bad, and then you had #27 asleep behind the wheel for most of his tenure, and then Chuckles came along and drove it right off of a cliff! Good stuff. FIRE CHUCK! Thanks!

What home grown talent are talking about? They have no elite home grown talent.

#32 — Chuck Fletcher (PHI) — Every move turns out worse than the last. He now has a team full of overpaid veterans on long-term contracts. The organization is a complete mess and has no vision.

He was aggressive and a risk taker as a goalie, but he appears to be afraid of his own shadow as a GM. I dunno... |

Not exactly lighting it up in Pitt. He was a very odd choice for that job seeing they were/are still in go for the cup mode. He has done nothing in Western PA.

Could be. Not going to rehash that JG saga. The decision makers clearly did not want him. Odd when you have the GM professing they need elite talent.
