He is freaking old and slow, yes sure I agree he had a great year and I hope he does again this year, but after this year its time for him to retire or go to FA...

I am not spending any amount of money on a 4th line 35 year old plug. I would rather take my chances with any player in the AHL over Okie after next season.

If you need to sign vets, you want to sign Proven point producers for short term deals 1-3 years. Like a Kane, or dare I say Kessel.

if they extend Okie to anything GMKA should be fired. you don't sign a clearly declining player just he can be the DAD on the team. he will be 35 by the end of the season, Hard Pass just to make him a captain. If anything I hope he retires and he could come on as a assistant coach or something like that.

Also, you don't need a C on your chest to be a leader. if you want to make him an "A" fine with me, Girgs, Okie,"A" Tuch "C"

We have NO Room on this roster for an aging player, we have too many talented players waiting in the wings.

Now if they are signing a Pat Kane that is a much different story.

I'd definitely say see how this year plays out before talking contract with Okposo, but if he's still playing middle-six minutes and putting up 45 points, I don't see a problem in extending him year-to-year.

We know he can play a stay-at-home forward role if need be, and if he's making $2.5m to play on the 3rd/4th line, that's fine. Quinn, Tuch, Olofsson and Okposo could be a very solid RW depth chart in 2023-24

If he's hurt a lot this year and he regresses, then you cut the cord.

It's so hard to predict because if he stays healthy and other guys get hurt, Okposo will be on PP1 on the right side.

If he plays 70-75 games at 15 minutes a night, I'll say 35 points
