In the minors:
Foerster, Gauthier, Allison, Brink. Not sure about Tuomaala, he seems like a project. I get an Alexander Daigle vibe from him in that he has great speed but doesn't seem to "get it"....

Might include Ratcliffe in there but he is also a project

In the NHL:

Frost, Tippett.

Guys like Noah Cates, Laczynski, O'Brien, Wisdom, Kase, Ratcliffe all have NHL ability but I see them as bottom 6 guys in the long run.

Just my opinion.

That looks a lot more like middle 6 than top 6. Which one of those guys is a first line talent?

I've watched every Canadian game thus far (also every USA and Sweden) and it happens quite a bit. I get it though....Johnston is uniquely talented and his edges are crazy, he can pivot on a dime and lose no momentum. Likewise Stankhoven is pretty water bug like himself.

IMO...It seems like open lanes were getting passed on, perhaps because the puck carrier was fearful of it getting picked off and wanted to "create" a more open hole to get it through. Problem seemed to be Forrestor would get to where he should be for the original pass....but then the dangle changes the lane and passing zone/angle and he'd be holding his Johnson trying to figure out where the heck the skater was going to go so he could find a hole in the ice to be at. It's just that Johnston/Stank have been pretty successful with the roving so I think it depends on coaching...do they want to simplify the game or keep taking advantage of the individual mobility of those 2. Forrester is still producing despite that and his size makes him a decent pick so I wouldnt be confident it changes that much. Maybe if the US hadn't screwed the pooch and blew their opportunity...they had the defense to put a stamp on the roving and maybe force more of a passing environment. Maybe Sweden will tighten it up and do the same.

Again...these are my observations...others may see something different.

Same here, watched every game. This is pretty accurate.

He finds open ice, but his linemates either don't see him or pass up because they try to do some move.

I like his game in his own end. He seems to have good hockey sense and I haven't seen any issues with his skating.

I think Gauthier could be a top line talent. But middle six is half of the top six, so second line...

I am kind of agreeing with those who say they have not a lot of top six talent.

Good for the Flames, I bet they go further with this group than with Johnny who wants to hang out rather than play hockey and the most overrated player in the league

That’s where I’m at too, they really don’t have top line guys. Some borderline guys I guess like TK, maybe Farabee. Coots clearly a first line player. Same song and dance, no elite talent

I think they have a good number of top 6 prospects also. Hopefully adding more.

I wonder if the Flyers front office and Spectacor are blowing up over this. We think they don't hear stuff like this but the Athletic is big time.
It is definitely on their radar now. Lets see what attendance is this year. That and the amount of people watching will be the final nail....hopefully.

Would love to hear this. Top 6 is also quite a stretch, let’s get the top out of there.

They are the only true top 6 prospects imo. Have to see more of Brink especially after surgery.

Frost and Tippet are no longer prospects. Though I suppose you can still hold out hope they turn into a top 6 player.

I'm pretty much in agreement there although non NHL player prospects is not my forte. I'd like to add though that I really view it as top 9 more so than top 6 and bottom 6. You need skilled players on 3 lines now along with a solid 4th line if you want to be a good team. So if a skilled player winds up as a 3rd line player from the draft in later rounds. That's a good pick.

Foerster, Gauthier, Tuomaala and Brink all have some top 6 potential.

My guess is in 2022 they have an intern scour the internet looking for this type of stuff. Dedicated to it.

Is there ever "a lot" How long does a drafted player remain a prospect after being drafted?

You took thw words right out of my head here! When nobody shows up to the games they will be forced to make moves.
I hope that those moves mean they clean out the entire front office and hopefully they even remove the dinosaurs that are holding this team back.
Also fire Dave Scott! Why not?

When they clean out the front office, are they hiring from within?

First step after firing Fletcher is tell Clarke, Holmgren and Barber thank you for everything but you're no longer a part of this organization. We'd love for you to be involved in public or alumni functions but other than that. Your services are no longer needed.

Yeah, who needs 40 goal, 115 point scorers anyway. Certainly not the Flyers.

agree, they can fill out top 9, they need top 3 and to let Coots play 2nd line, then they will have something

As long as this all manifests in loss of revenue. I don’t think Comcast and Dave Scott care about fan satisfaction so long as the building is full, concessions are selling, parking lot is filled, and people are watching causing sponsors to pay prime $ for commercials. EMS is rolling over in his grave.

Also, given the “old boys” take that some have of this team, how in the world can someone like Clarke and Holmgren (as influential as they may be), two men who absolutely loved and respected “Mr Snider”, allow this to happen? Shouldn’t we expect them to be railing against the destructive ownership and governorship of Comcast and Scott?

I think it is. 2-3 years after a draft, normally a player that is a potential top 6 player is either in pushing for the NHL or is no longer deemed as such. Barring serious injury.
