Is there still a full rumour blog coming? Before the Kadri news it was supposedly on the way. With Kadri gone its time to link Kessel, Subban, Stastny, Stepan, etc...We know Lou has a plan. Add in Philly, Nashville, a couple of Canadian teams. Boom. Hits.

I’m wondering if his sources are still telling him that Vegas wants to be kept up to date on Price?? Now that he’s officially done as most of us already knew.

Remember when Price was exposed in the expansion draft?? Oh my, Seattle has their Vezina goalie. They are following the same blueprint as Vegas. Price grew up near Seattle. What is Montreal thinking?

Umm, Montreal would desperately want someone to take his contract. For free. That's what they are thinking. Even the Montreal blogger here flipped out. No awareness of the cap and contract value.

No, they are not, and they still won’t match up well against the Oil cone playoff time.
- HonkyTonkMan

What is an Oiler cone? Is that what they call Nurse standing at the blue line?
Oh, btw, Oilers swept in 4 by the AVS.
Just saying.

Why the hell do you keep ranting about this? Are you talking about NHL players? They're (by far) the lowest paid athletes of the major 4 sports playing the most dangerous, physically demanding one of the four. A huge percentage of their pay goes to taxes and paying back the escrow payments for shortfalls in profit sharing made worse by the lack of fans during COVID. And hockey is more dependent on fans in seats than the other major sports because their TV contract is much lower.

Who exactly is complaining that he's worth more? Their salaries and the net they take of those salaries is actually declining and they seem to be going out of their way not to complain because they understand how badly the rest of the world has been hit with COVID and rising inflation.

You're freaking clueless. In 2019 the NFL made 15% of their revenues from ticket sales. They were 21% in 2010 and decline every year. Ticket sales are almost irrelevant to the NFL. Why do you think Bettman is constantly chasing after untapped TV markets in the US? He would love to have a TV contract that's a half or even a quarter of the NFL's. Last year 46 of the Top 50 individual TV broadcasts in the US were NFL games. Including, IIRC, the Top 26. The NHL would love to be in a position to similarly not care about butts in seats.

I sit in the absolute cheapest seats in Ball Arena. The Top 5 rows of the top bowl, end seats, attack once end. You wanna know what we paid for the 4 rounds of the playoffs? $21 a seat for Round 1, 24 for Round 2, 32 for the conf finals and 36 for the SCF. I have 4 seats - we take our 2 youngest daughters when they're able or sell 2 of the tickets (yeah, we all live in my parent's basement or at least would if my parents hadn't been dead for years). People sitting directly next to me paid $1000 a seat for their tickets to game 1 of the Final (I think the face value to non season ticket holders was around $250) and the owners and players got a very low percentage of that 1000 bucks.

Continually ranting about the salaries of NHL players and seeing in them only the desire to suck money out of fans makes you look like an ignorant clown.

All salaries are based on what society is willing to pay. Generally, the more money a company generates, the more goes to employees. And the harder it is to replace a person in their role, the more they make. No one can replace a McDavid, Matthews, Crosby, etc. Or maybe your beer league MVP just hasn't been scouted yet?

If you like the cheap seats good for you The salaries are bloated Look at MLB
The most boring of all major sports and the money is all GREED. Paying that kind of money for baseball is STUPID No Salary Cap Most teams are just minor league teams for the Rich teams They have players that blossom and then go to the rich teams and the poor teams still stink Example Pitts Cin Det etc All who have no chance for success. But all the players get to be multi millionaires STUPID RUNS WILD IN MAJOR LEAGUE SPORTS It is the same every year and nothing changes

Trevelling should win executive of the year by default , what he did was nothing short of impressive, Flames will stay competitive for years, heck , I'm ready to say they might have the best defense in the West.
- Alexzanki

For sure THIS. Wrong or right He deserves GM of the year nominations right now! I am sure he had some tough decisions to make. But he seemed to pull a rabbit out of his hat at every turn. Sure it could not work out...But no one can say he didn't go for it. And to be honest he sacrificed the future for the present. But he is no coward.

If Markstrom gets back to his ol' self and Campbell campbells...then ya they do.
- Fakepartofme

Markstrom didn’t lose that series for the Flames anymore than Smith won it for the Oilers. The truth is that’s the Flames couldn’t contain either Of of McDavids or Draisaitl’s forward lines. They had no answer for it. Kadri is a definite defensive shadow upgrade over Tkachuck tho.
