Yeah I wonder why there’s never a clear consensus bpa who’s got size/skill and plays a premium position(C/D) who’s available at our picks. It’s almost always smaller skilled wingers that are “bpa”..weird
Maybe one day the stars will align - Nucker101
Because small wingers slide and big centres and D rise 🤷♂️ You have to reach if you want a player like Mason |

Not all. He wasn't my fav. He was early teens 12th or 14th on my list. Maybe a few slots lower than he should have been.
Certainly the type of player Van should be looking to add to the line up but it still has to be value.
I always compared him to a slightly lesser version of Brayden Schenn. Schenn in most drafts would be worthy of a 6-10 pick.
Schenn was better in his pre-draft year and 7 months younger in his draft year. - manvanfan
Then you weren’t paying attention. MM was one of 3-4 guys that were a toss up to go 2nd after Power. |

You mean teams don’t prioritize wingers over them and they don’t just magically drop into your lap?

It’s the turn the other cheek mantra that has been a part of the cancerous Canucks culture for over 25 years now. Yeah |

Nathan Rourke will undergo surgery for a Lisfranc sprain in his right foot. We are hopeful that rehab will leave the door open for a late-season return. Speedy recovery, Nathan 🙏

Thanks Carol!
The bronze and gold medal games were both highly competitive and fun to be at. The crowd definitely wanted the Czechs to beat the Swedes, and holy poop are the Finns ever a big team.
Jurmo was impressive to see live. He's huge, and skates extremely well for his size. He looked really confident, and wasn't taking crap from anyone. Hopefully he can maintain that style when he eventually comes over to play in NA. |

Looks quite a bit the same that his hockey sense is far behind his skating. Defensively more engaged then when he was drafted but he still skates himself into a corner lots. |

Of course they’re are. But look at how much easier it is to upgrade at wing vs C/D every summer |

Hiya boyos ya miss me? Lol
And on a bit more of a big picture note, Islanders fans are mad! Lou Lamoriello hasn’t done much, and after people thought they would get Kadri, the Isles fanbase appears to have lost its mind. Could it lead to the Islanders making a desperate trade for JT Miller? Hopefully, and possibly? They have done quite literally nothing all off-season, and it’s becoming a story. After a letdown of a 2021-22 campaign, there was hope they’d rebound. In my estimation the only way of improving is trading Noah Dobson for Miller.
Saw this & thought I’d post it. On other sites NYI fans seem to think Uncle Lou isn’t being forced to act. New arena & disappointing last season & older vets eating up cap. I maintain he’s under the gun. |

We’ll Ruby did identify Mason MacTavish as a top pick in the draft, and he ended up being the leading scorer in the World Juniors. Could do a lot worse with a few others in here. - K-man25
I was big on McT hyping him as my boy all the way. Ducks did good. |

What would be the point of giving up a player like Dobson? They create a big hole on D to add a aging free agent? Makes no sense. They were trying to create cap space for Kadri because that is the kind of move they need to make. Improving the team without creating a massive hole elsewhere in the line up.
You make it sound like Lu will make a blockbuster deal just to please the fans.... they won't be happy with trading away a franchise level very young D for an aging forward looking for a contract that puts him near 40.... if he even re-signs for that matter. Islanders would probably be less appealing after they trade away Dobson. Miller would be months away from UFA status... |

Simple, they’ll pull off the sign and trade. It’s been done at least once successfully so why not again?
There will no doubt be a bidding war for the sign and trade. Probably get Dobson plus! |
