Do not worry. Thompson will fix his game.

That’d be best achieved by benching his ass.

Yes but you need real offensive talent and be young to qualify for an Islander benching.

Doesn't matter. Islander coaches bench better players if they're younger. Its like a union job here with the Islanders. Tenure means everything. Talent and results mean nothing.

Not cranky at all but maybe one person was complaining about Lameriello’s inactivity during free agency. The rest was obvious jokes and sarcasm. You two have filled up multiple pages complaining about complaining. You’ve passed the point of complaining. Give it a rest already we get the point my god. I expect the continual ad nauseam from your partner who obviously doesn’t have much between the ears and a constant yearning for attention like a three year old girl. We get it you like everything Lameriello didn’t do. Wonderful. Go meet your buddy for a beer he’s desperate for friends and bring it to Twitter where people are still losing their minds and you can fight with them all day. You’ll have an actual audience to pledge your allegiance

Yes you are correct, the fan base has no idea as what Lou was in on. For all we know he was in on everything.

While I wanted Kadri, I did not want him at 7 years. I have no issue with Lou not giving a 32 player a deal that will be an anchor in fours.

The whole thing with other GM's having Lou over a barrel. That is pure speculation. There were plenty of wings out there that could have been had. The bottom line is that Lou did not make good on his statement of improving the forward core. That is just facts.

It is obvious that he was looking to improve the D which he did. But he has fallen short on the forwards. Sure he took a shot, but how aggressive? No one knows but Lou himself.

He apparently believes in the group that he has and with the coaching and the defensive addition, along with a health squad. He believes he has the right recipe. And he may very have it.

As for me, watching the avs, canes, rags, lighting...I do not believe this team is in the same tier as they are. I view them as lower.

Has Lou brought respectability back to the Islanders? 1000% But we are four years beyond that. This team and organization needs to take another step forward and modifications need to be made along the way.

If standing pat means some of the young blood gets more of an opportunity. Wally, Bellows and Raty...Salo...I am all for it. But changes need to be made.

Those teams all have 3 or 4 players with high end skill the isles have 1 in barzal.

I mean have we had that in the last decade other then arguably Tavares? We’ve still managed to compete at a high level two of the last three seasons. I say that agreeing with the idea that they were Covid shortened seasons which helped us in a big way. I’m also not saying we’re a shoe in over an 82 game season to make the playoffs in our division. Just saying that the mediocre top 9 players and low level grinder types have carried the ball fairly well for us for three of the last four years. Lee scored 40 goals once that’s cool

Islanders can compete and be a very tough out in the playoffs but can they win it all without more high end talent? So far the answer has been No. It's a huge ask to expect the goalies and defense to carry you all the way. High end talent is important and can win you games when most of the team is struggling. Outside of Barzal, the Isles did not have another player that could make a big play against Tampa and score a goal when really needed.
