Def not a full size rink but good enough for 3 on 3. Thought the same about Drouin when i went, did he shoot much when you went? Im just really curious to see Slaf up close and how he interacts with others on the ice.
- Karine Hains

He shot three, maybe four times(?), one coming when he was alone on a breakaway and once when he was set up in front of the net, straight into the goaltender's chest. The third shot was from the side, not very strong, more like an attempt to set up a rebound. Otherwise, he passed pretty much all the time, but he also didn't have many opportunities to shoot in the end. He passed on two or three opportunities, but that's it, not like he was clearly avoiding it either. He wasn't very involved, especially if you compared him to Anderson (not the same game, but you could see the difference anyway).

What was weird with Drouin is that when the game started, he was smiling and seemed to be having fun, but as the game progressed, he just seemed to quit and going through the motions. Very often (6-7 times, maybe), he could have skated just one more push and gotten the puck and instead, he just watched it go by and that generally led to the opposing team getting a breakaway. I don't know if it was a physical issue that hindered his enjoyment or if it was a mental issue where he just can't enjoy the game the same way as before, but he definitely didn't seem like a professional getting ready for his season.

iiish, sure doesn't sound like good news. maybe he's just being extra-careful to avoid being injured in a non-NHL related event after missing so much time, but I guess it's also a possibility that he just can't keep up the pace anymore at that level...

I don't really care at this point, last year of his contract.

I just hope for his sake he's not too depress anymore.

Pace wasn't much of an issue... I mean, they could do the whole rink in three strides, it was slightly ridiculous! My 8 year old son plays on half-ice and takes twice the amount of time to cross that distance!

ohh when I say it isn't good news I mean for him, from the habs' perspective it isn't really a huge deal.

haha...well at least his cardio is good then loll. by "pace" though I also meant being able to make plays, shoot the puck, and get involved. he said that because of his wrists it won't quite be the same for him, but there's a limit to how much a player can make adjustments to his game to keep playing at the NHL level.

well the issues now would appear to be mainly physical, when he took that break earlier it was more between his ears... who knows, if he can't shoot the puck anymore perhaps his passing abilities will be heightened to a level that no left column has ever seen before.

he will become MUCH easier to cover if he can't shoot the puck.

I know lol, it's gonna be nearly impossible for him to have a good season and potentially get a new contract elsewhere if he can't shoot anymore. my comment was only because mash loves the left column so much.
