Moving Muzzin makes room for Sandin who is without a spot right now.

While also making the Blackhawks roster worse and helping them bottom out for Bedard.

Here is what's going to happen mid-September :
Blackhawks send Kane to the Avalanche (retain 50% of course)
Avalanche send J. T. Compher and a 2023 1st rd plus Martin Kaut

Compher bring the Hawks a 2nd or 3rd in mid season trade.

Thats what is going to happen ..........................

Avs trade Girard for a futures return(and cap space), then offer a 1st from the Girard trade, Annunen, Olausson, and Compher, for Kane @ 50%. Leaves some cap room for a 2C.

It’s gotta be a team with their window wide open to closing…because if you’re window is just opening then wait to sign him for free next year. In canvassing those types of teams, I would go with Colorado making the best pitch.

Nylander’s on his way out we all know that Justin Hall is garbage you can’t pay a guy 3 million to play 11 minutes a night and get no points and be a minus Sandin is the actual chip in the trade ……. He wants 4.25 mill for 2 years…. And Willy like I said he’s on his way out man !!

People never seem to learn from the past so we get all these ridiculous returns like Karlsson, Hall and Giroux were supposed to get - like Chicago is going to get Nylander plus for a year of Kane. Here's another clue - if the Avs didn't trade Girard to sign Kadri long term they're not trading Girard for a year of Kane.

Here's the kind of trade that could happen:

1) Kane to AZ for future considerations, Chicago retains 50% (5.25 million, the max they can retain).
2) Avs 2024 1st, 2025 2nd and 2025 3rd plus Mikhail Maltsev (look up his AHL numbers for last season) to AZ for Kane. AZ retains another 50% (2.625 million)
3) AZ sends the 1st, 3rd and Maltsev to Chicago to complete the deal, keeps the 2nd for the salary retention.

Avs get Kane at 2.625, Hawks get 1st, 3rd and Maltsev, AZ gets a 2nd. Avs are still 1.3 million under the Cap so they can call someone up in case of an injury.

I probably wouldn't do this deal because I think the Avs have enough and worry about continually giving up picks but acoording to Friedman Sakic has called two years in a row abouit Kane so they're definitely interested and this is about as much as McFarland/Sakic will give, maybe a little more. This is the kind of deal that happens in the real world.

Kane's contract is structured so that he's owed 4 million in a bonus and 2.9 million in salary this season (even though he counts for 10.5 AAV, his deal was heavily front loaded) and Chicago has already paid the bonus. So they'd be taking a 2nd for assuming $725k in cash. I think they'd do that.
