What was his GAA and SV%? - Scoob
My bad. I did not realize it was just goalies. I imagine Otto would have made a good goalie though.

Your post comparing different players that were nothing like the Ellis trade - ClaudeFather
My post was about willingly getting into another long term contract which could turn out bad and it did turn out bad…
-Pronger, freak accident, over 35, long term contract.
-LeCavalier, aging player, signed to a long term contract we instantly wanted out of.
-Umberger, declining player prior to his trade, long term contract.
-Andrew MacDonald, sent to minors multiple times, long term contract.
Ryan Ellis, entering his 30’s, already injury prone. Long term contract. The Flyers aren’t learning from passed mistakes. Neither are some of the fans who were ever happy with this deal. |

Those in the fantasy camp seemed to have more jump then the Flyers have had in years. I'm sure Oliver's wife might have a thing or two to say about his return in 2023.
Glad he's ok. - hockeylover
Seems like the injury bug now extends to fantasy camp. Won’t be long before Flyers office staff start calling in sick to avoid similar career ending impairments. |

Just because you say it, doesn’t make you correct. Ryan Ellis was very much an injury prone player with a long term contract while enter his 30’s, which is exactly the type of deal the Flyers should have never Pursued. It doesn’t matter if the situation is “different” if the long term deal has red flags all over it. |

Who knows, maybe now that he is the undisputed "guy" it will increase his confidence even more.
I just hope he stays relatively healthy. |

Well. It’s different since he will be on ltir. Funny a few weeks ago you were stating how great Vinny was and how his contract was fair and worth it basically.
The contract hurts but isn’t as obstructive as umberger.
Was a SS bros quote that didn’t work. |

Shouldn't we be hearing from the GM on Ellis 's status instead of our coach? I guess his feelings are hurt from all the backlash he has gotten lately. UpChuck is a coward too IMO. |

Not true. They’re going to do good enough to move out of the top 5 in the next draft. |

It was long term for long term, one of which being shorter than the other. That shorter contract was attached to an already bad player. Hints why comparable..HISTORY |

|
Once we put him on LTIR we will be under the cap! Yay! |

I'm not concerned about his confidence - it's the workload - it's going to be heavy in terms of games played as well as how taxing each individual game will be - he's going to face a lot of high quality shots |

I think they need to be cap compliant before they can put him on LTIR - I could be wrong though |
