Scoring wasn't the problem. The Flames and especially Markstrom couldn't keep the puck of of their net.

The team as a whole just seemed to be fragile. The minute Edmonton got momentum Flames would just collapse. Part of that is on Sutter; not having Tanev was also a huge negative. But Markstrom was shat the bed.

How long is Tanev out for? How will the D look while he is out? I understand that Weeger is not great in his own zone but awesome at transition and jumping into the rush. Can't see Weeger working with Kylington. Maybe Mackey gets a shot until Tanev is back?

I'm not sure Tanev will be out, I believe Treliving said he would be ready for the start of the season.

Backlund was our best player during the playoffs vs the Oilers, never took a night off. Leaders lead and he did this last time around. As the longest standing Flame, I could see him with the C.
