A bunch of punters being released
Ian Rapoport
@RapSheet
#Broncos P Sam Martin is being released today by Denver after indicating he would refuse any pay reduction. He was a top 5 punter statistically in 2021 and set Broncos all-time record for net punting last season. Will have interest.

Titans informed longtime Brett Kern that they are releasing him, per source. Kern has punted for the Titans since 2009; Ryan Stonehouse from Colorado State looks as if he has won the job.
Kern is from Grand Island |

I saw an article that the Titans were expected to release him. Signing the hometown guy is probably just what the doctor ordered PR wise.
Looking at what the Bills did with Bass two years ago, and even with Araiza over Haack, it seems kicker and punter are easy ways to shave off some cap space around the league.
I would expect a number of punters to come in for a tryout this week. They should put up an ad: "Calling all punters. Enter for your chance to win a Super Bowl!" |

People are so up in arms about the release of Haack, when in reality he was a terrible punter for the Bills and can be easily replaced at this point of the season.

i think i like this the most out of any other options, but he is a right legged punter and team seems to be most interested in left legs. |

I have to think that the "advantage" of having a left-footed punter isn't what it once was with the way coaching is nowadays.

Well that's it, think the actual punting part comes 2nd in the Bill's evaluation, can you hold the Ball on FG. Cause there's gonna be games you might not punt or maybe 1 or 2 times, can you hold. Kid from the Titans fits that. |

Why, the Bill's like Lefties cause it spins differently, can cause more muffed punts, especially in that Stadium |

It only spins "differently" if the majority of punters are right footed. In 2017, 10 of 32 punters were left footed. I couldn't find any other year without digging deeper. Given that trend, though, I have to imagine that number has gone up.

I don’t think ppl were “up in arms” so much about Haack being released, as they were about Araiza being kept even after we knew about what happened with him |
