He should sue the NHL, Islanders, and Lou for jeopardizing his career.

That would be great just to have all the Statistics brought out to these morons.

He really should sue the Islanders. It sounds like this is not coming from the NHL but Lou himself. This does not make the team look good and again especially when they cannot sign top FA's.

We needed to sign Kadri so he could challenge him on the dopey Beard rule... It's my religion! now what?

It's always some crazy idea or rule with this team. 15 year contract for a goalie, the committee, and signing a player before a certain point or they sit out the year. Now we have no beards and the vax shot.

It didn't seem to be a problem when he played for Lou in Toronto

I was kind of kidding... just tired of the dopey rules. As I am sure the players are to an extent.

Are you sure Lou gets to make the changes if the Islanders miss the playoffs?
- ses111

No he should have been fired 2years ago!
Seriously if they don’t make the POs this year he certainly must take blame for the teams failures the last 2 seasons. I think it’s his last year under contract so you have to think that L and M may move on from Lou. That said they ( L and M, not the fan base) can not over look the 180 degree turn this team has taken since he was hired. All in all he’s done a good job from where the team was.
On his son taking over, He was an assistant coach under Snow so I don’t think there is a succession plan in place. I would not want Chris running the show if Lou was fired. I would want L and M to find another proven GM to rebuild the team.
I do like what Gorton did with the Rangers. Totally rebuilt them and then Dolan kicked his ass out the door for not agreeing with Him.
I don’t think a new GM will be necessary as I think the Isles will make the POs this year.
Which may be Lou’s last hoorah and retire with his son taking over. Again I don’t think the Isles hand the GM role to Chris after firing his son. If that indeed were to happen. If he retires then Chris may get the job.

I like Lou and he has brought respect back to the Isles but if the Isles miss the playoffs again I think the Isles need to move on. You have to factor in Lou's age. I'd rather see an outside GM be hired instead of Chris taking over. Hopefully it's a great season and the Isles win the Cup and Lou rides off into the sunset.

I can understand maybe the office people in suits and shaved but I would have given the players more freedom. Maybe Lou could have dropped the no beard rule after the Islanders made the ECF the first time? I think most fans could probably care less about beards on the players and just want the team to win.

They could wear dildo necklaces for all I care but it’s not about what the fans want.

The fans want them to win. I don't know anyone that cares about beards except for Lou. He could make them all wear shock collars and I'd be fine with it if it helps them win the Cup.

Indeed! Teams should not make decisions based on what the fans want but if something like allowing beards or not forcing players to get a shot makes the players happy, it seems worth it and especially when the Islanders are not the #1 player destination.

Yankees have the same no long hair and facial hair policy if I’m not mistaken. Nothing wrong with representing the crest the way the organization would like. They sign the check you do as the organization says. Or play for someone else.
On the Covid 19 vaccination. I think at this point it’s foolish banning a player because they are in vaxed. In retrospect the vaccination actually worsened the stead because vaccinated people could get the virus and many with mild to no symptoms went out into public thinking they were vaccinated and couldn’t be sick. The whole handling of Covid 19 in this country was a circle jerk.

Agreed.

My number one concern as a fan is the success of the team. And as much as I respect Lou for what he’s accomplished with the organization thus far, his odd arbitrary “rules” have nothing to do with fostering success. Thus, as far as I’m concerned, he can take his arbitrary “rules” and shove them right up his geriatric ass.

Can I have the button on Bailey's collar? I would be shocking him every time he was on the ice... Wake up!!

Hitting him with a shock every time he opts to pass on a sure shot is just crazy enough to work.

Lou is an all time great with a ton of success but the rules that worked in the past may not work in 2022. Even Bill Belichick with all his success and the players may be getting tired of his rules.

Correct but Lou doesn’t care which is my point. He’s focused on doing what he thinks is the right way to win. Ownership will care what fans want when their revenue drops.

This is true but the Yankees have a lot more success in attracting top FA's and high profile teams like the Yankees can have rules and still be an attractive destination. The vaccination policy by the Islanders makes no sense at all.

Yes… and no.

I just can’t envision a world in which absolute “no facial hair” or “nix all leaked trades” policies are conducive to winning. 😂

I really wonder how many FA’s didn’t want to play under his thumb? There has to be at least a few.
