DeHaan never played for Philly. Are you confusing DeHaan with Andrew MacDonald? - JohnScammo

I have a similar story. Met him at an islander event when he was still the sound tigers coach. I asked him which player in Bridgeport would be the next impactful player to come up and become a regular. He then went on to gush about Andrew Macdonald for the next twenty minutes. He absolutely loved the guy. Maybe not the best coach but I agree he’s a really nice guy. - Cptmjl
Haha Andrew McDonald. |

Would you give up next years first + anyone besides Raty, + something else for Patrick Kane? I think another team pays more but I would consider it…

I would a give up a 2nd Round this year and 1st next year if he re-signs otherwise it is a 2nd.
The only way I part with a 1st this year and prospect is if Chicago retain 60% or more of Kanes salary. |

I am the point where the Isles should just stand pat. Unless there is a training camp salary dump. Let see what we have with a healthy rested core.
I think Raty, provided he has a solid camp should get a 9 game look. But they need to put him in a position to succeed not bury him somewhere.
I think Salo should get a long look as well. If these know in their minds that it more then just one game, they might not be as nervous to fail.
Lambert should look at what worked with Barzal last year and start with that. Stop jerking him around with multiple wing combinations. I like Wally and Parise bc of their ability to skate with Matt.
I would like to see Bellows get more of an opportunity on the 3rd line first and see how it plays from there.
Lets see how Sorokin does with a 3 to 1 ratio of games. And what a rested Varly will bring.
If this team is struggling 15 games in Lou will need to make some adjustments. But as for now. Save the assets and cap space to potentially strengthen team through season.

I think this is the right way to go. I think Salo should start as the 6th dman. I would still like to see Wally with Barzal and if it's not working make a change.

A bit more information then.
It is a $50 (Canadian) entry fee to get in.
The team you’d be inheriting used to belong to one of our founding members, who sadly had to leave due to personal reasons.
You’d get to pick 5 keepers from his current roster, which includes players like Kyle Connor, Mitch Marner, Darcy Kuemper, Morgan Reilly, Brayden Point and Jake Guentzel.
Oh, and Connor McDavid.
It’s a head to head points league, and this will be our 4th season. It’s a pretty competitive group, made up mostly of HockeyBuzz posters. |

I would, but unfortunately I'm low on Canadian currency at the moment. I think maybe I have $0.37 (Canadian). |

Do you have $5 American? Cause that’d probably cover it. |

Said this after Gaudreau signed with Columbus. Tarasenko would be nice I see him as a player that could really help the team even after this season. But the only player I would give up our first for would be Kane but that’s not happening so yeah stick with what we got. See how the team performs. Hopefully one of bellows or Wahlstrom has a good season and the rest of these guys bounce back. I’m expecting Sorokin to have a monster season. |

I’ve mentioned this before, but I spent a couple hours with Cappie at my cigar shop that I got to in Saratoga. I can’t remember what year but just after we were eliminated from the playoffs. His buddy from beantown had a horse running at the spa. My best friend is a huge Bs fan, had a Bs shirt on and he got a kick out of that. I was asking him why Johnny B wasn’t on the PP with his cannon shot among other things and he showed me an email he sent to Snow. The email showed points per defenseman and at the time he was a big proponent of having dman produce. He went on to show the stats of teams that had defensive production and all the top teams had high influence of production by dmen. I have to say I wasn’t a fan of the results at the time but he was a solid dude. - streaks

Don't get me wrong. I still believe changes need to be made to this team. I just do not think the team should waste assets or cap space just to make a move at this point.
They can implement minor changes by giving the younger players a legitimate opportunity to make this team.
Other then that. Lou should focus acrewing cap space.

Remember all the Flyer fans saying we were just bitter that we lost him? A few of them came back to say they were wrong. But as Crapuano said, Amac played a heavy game.

And one of the picks we got for him was used to draft Sorokin |

Macdonald kind of sucked his entire time with us. His play didn’t have to diminish - Cptmjl
I remember when Philly signed him a few of my buddies who were Flyers' fans were fired up... "He leads the league in blocked shots...etc." yes, when you are literally in the crease instead of playing defense you tend to "block" a lot of shots. |
