They’ve already turned down some pretty good offers so no; they aren’t getting desperate to trade him. |

Yeah, I'm not sure why the Coyotes would have to be desperate. They can just play him and wait.
They're going to be bad regardless, so its not like they have too much pressure to turn things around right away.
There is likely to be more pressure on Dorion, especially if the team falters out of the gate. |

I agree.
There is zero need for Arizona to push him out the door. |

Sens are looking for a right shot D-man that can log a lot of minutes and prove himself to be a solid top 4 D-man. What's wrong with doing a 1 year deal with PK Subban? (if they can't do anything through trade) |

No they are not desperate to move a young decent dman on a good contract.
And they are certainly not desperate to take on the garbage that is Zaitsev either. - Fakepartofme
Zaitsev is a MUCH easier sell than Matt Murray. Not.even.close |

How much value does Brannstrom have anymore? I legit forget he;s even on the team anymore sometimes. |

I'd do it at this point. Or I like Damon Severson. It seems like the Arizona deal is expected now and I worry Dorion will overpay. Especially since he shoots left and DJ hates playing guys on their off side, seem like a recipe for frustration.
If only they'd played Thompson and JBD down the stretch when they were already out of it. At least we'd have an idea of if they're close.
My number 1 priority is moving Zaitsev still. gotta take away DJ's toys. Then get Zub signed, then add a RHD. |

Just like Chicago got a fair and good return for DeBrincat.
Markets have a remarkable ability to carve out fair value on an asset.
If you have the assets to make the deal, the market will ensure you pay a fair price. If you get the asset in competitive bidding the outcome is fair to buyer and seller..
Nobody is is more redundant to the discussion than those who think that every trade needs to be evaluated in terms of a winner and loser. Dumb how many folks wanted to declare Wilson and winner and crucify Dorion after the Karlsson trade. - spatso
Debrincat has a 9M qualifying offer after his contract runs out and there is no guarantee to him signing an extension that's why his trade value is what it was. Chychrun is a totally different ballgame and someone is gonna have to pay up. Arizona has zero pressure to trade him for a lesser return. |

The kid is a pretty awful defenseman.
I've never seen a player get skated around so many times.

The right side will be Zaitsev, Zub and Hamonic in no particular order. If they get Chychrun the left side will be Chabot, Chychrun and Holden. If they don't get Chychrun it will be Chabot, Chabot (not a typo), Holden and Brannstrom.
I would hold onto that 2023 first round pick if I were them or at least top ten protect it. |

Jake Sanderson was drafted 2 years ago and is a 5th overall pick. He should get some time this season without question. Makar was drafted 4th in 2017 and played in the 2019-2020 season. I don't think Sanderson is where he was but he certainly has a high ceiling - not to mention he's physically capable of handling the NHL in all ways (maybe 82 games will be a lot but I think he will be a top 4 D-man this season personally) |

It's a good question whether Brannstrom has value or not. Many people forget that he was the CAPTAIN of team Sweden at the WJC in 2019. Another D-man that played well at that tournament was Henri Jokiharju. I think that's the type of D-man that Brannstrom can become if he finds his game again; I just think he needs a change. I don't think he will do it here UNLESS the Sens can find him the right stable partner. Liljegren is a guy that thrived on a good team and being put the right position. Playing Brannstrom out of his position has not allowed him to hit his potential - I don't know if it's more of a coach thing or roster (GM)...... but it's make or break time |

If you want to get Chychrun, you'll need to put down a big offer to entice the Coyotes to trade the left-handled defenseman. If I was in Dorion's shoes, I would offer a 1st round pick in 2023 (top-3 protected), a conditionnal first round in 2025, Brannstrom, JBD and Formenton. Yes, it seems a lot, but this is the price to pay right now for making business with Armstrong who has all the leverages and has no urgency in that case. |

For those of you who are saying Chychrun can't force a trade or hurry the trade process along, he totally can. He goes to thr GM and says, trade me or else I will ask for a trade publicly, and if it comes to me asking for one publicly I will say the reason is due to the joke of the Rink they have to play in for three years. Or how horribly run the organization is. Etc etc. It won't increase his trade value but it will make it so toxic they will be forced to move him.
Can't see him doing it though....doesn't strike me as that guy. |

And the holdup to this may be Zaitsev. A 2nd just to take him.
So 2023 protected 1st, a 2024 2nd, zaitsev, jbd and Sokolov |

Like everyone else, we don't know where negotiations stand on getting a deal finalized for Chychrun.
But, we do know that there are at least four teams showing an interest in acquiring him. Just plain silly to put forward the idea that Armstrong has no leverage so a low ball offer should get it done.
Two of the teams in the hunt for Chychrun are the Rangers and Kings. Like the Sens, both these teams have really good young players and deep prospect pools. No doubt, they, like the Sens, can table a really strong and marketable proposal that the Coyotes should be able to sell to their fans.
So, if you are in Dorion's position you put together your best offer and if it fails you move on to Tanev or Murphy or another quality RHD that might be available. |

I would do that deal. With one lest 1st round pick in there.
Additionally. Dorion already has Chicago agreeing to take Zaitsev for a 2nd round pick. Or he did at the draft. |

I would do a trade for Chychrun like this
2023 1st (top 3 protected)
2024 1st (top 10 protected)
Egor Sokolov
2023 2nd + Zeitsev/Brannstrom
I wanna keep JBD and Thomson
Maybe next year it will look like this
Chabot Zub
Chychrun Thomson
Sanderson JBD
Sokolov had his time just can’t cut it
2nd and Brannstrom for taking Zeitsev off our hand he will help them tank lol

I remember this as well. I'm surprised he hasn't done so already if that is the case. They have the extra 2nd from Washington, I'd say get the deal done right away if they could.
Maybe the deal fell through, because people were saying it could be a first for the Coyotes to take Zaitsev.

The serious World Juniors allegations where Formenton could be involved may be holding things up. Otherwise he'd be a great piece to add to such a trade, but its undertandable that another team wouldn't want him in a trade until it is resolved. |
