Yeah... the defense's future looks bright but the present is scary.

Yeah, quantity is not quality.

They used to relly on their goalie to save their butt and he's not here anymore.

I expect him to get a few shots on the first line. If things go well in camp, he could start there. Otherwise, it'll most likely be Anderson.

His performances at camp will dictate where he'll end up and I obviously don't expect him to spend the whole year on the first line.

yeah, that would be really impressive if they established an instantaneous chemistry between them on the ice, these things usually take time, and obviously there's also Slaf's own personal development to consider. the way I see it though he should be sticking around, unless he just looks too out of place to be making the necessary adjustments at the NHL level.

Not sure how many goals they will score either. The other teams just have to shut down the top line. And that could be it.

they might do well in the first 2 months, surprise a few teams, but as the season unfold and teams start getting ready for the playoffs... it will be difficult. to say the least lol

c'est sûr, ils vont probablement faire mieux que l'an passé (dernière position, pas dur à battre) mais on s'entend qu'ils devraient quand même être dans les bas-fonds de la ligue lol

Like I said...as long as they keep games entertaining, I don't mind...even if losing sucks, I don't expect much this year.

The start of the season is just around the corner boys and girl.

This season will be exciting. Alot of young players will fill important roles sooner than later and excel at them.

We are building the road to our next championship and despite the few bumps we'll meet along the way, you can tell the future is bright!

The #Optobus is gearing up for alot of optimism this year!

I hope there is a real focus on that development.

Let kids get some real ice time, not 4th line bullpoop type stuff or 5 minutes a game as a 6th defence (or have them in the press box 3 out of 5 games). Let them make mistakes, let them learn, put them in critical positions from time to time so they can experience those minutes too.

I don't care about win / losses this year, want to see compete, effort and continual improvement.

Not a lot of spots open for rookies. 2 on defense and then maybe one up front.

I guess Dach is a very young player to look forward to, even if he's not a rookie.

Last year, Montembault played well enough to give the team in front of him a serious chance to win and they didn't take advantage when it happened.

Allen is good enough so share part of the load as well.

Now I'm not gonna say we have an amazing goaltending situation.

But it's not any weaker than say... what the Leafs are currently having.

Yeah, really curious to see Dach go and how much St-Louis can help him find his game.

It is not only rookies... like you said, Dach, but also CC and Suzuki still fairly new, etc... Youth. Let them play big minutes.

(frank) Drouin and Hoffman and Armia and those guys eating lots of minutes at kids expense.

That is what I am saying.

What's taking so long to sign him? They have cap space now, right?

Armia is on the 4th line, so who cares?

I think this is where Drouin belong at this point as well.

Armia may be on the 4th line, but he will play important minutes (not necessarily offensive ones) and somehow spend time on the PP too.

That is the kind of poop I do not want to see.

Last I heard, they were still exploring different scenarios with the player.

He'll be signed by the beginning of camp.

The issue last year was Allen ended up playing too many games in a row... then got injured as a result. Then Monty ended up playing too many games in a row, cause we had no one else. Same poop happened.

If they can split that time, use goaltenders properly, then I think they can provide league average goaltending... and on most night, not be the reason the Habs lose.
