Some of those 1-T's last year, you couldn't even see the puck in mid-air. He's got a laser on him.

He should be a 25+ goal guy every year moving forward, its his playmaking that he needs to work on.

Hertl put up similar #'s last year and is getting a million extra. Add on what some have said here about the extension not coming into effect till next year and were looking at a solid team-friendly deal.

I said ceilng, not actual worth. Thompson went crazy after a position switch and I think there is a real good chance that there is even more in there as he gets more comfortable. Dahlin is coming along nicely but because he isn't an elite skater I don't know if there is a ton more to tap.

Hard to gauge cause they play different positions but still gotta believe the higher ceiling goes to the younger Dahlin, the guy is just so smooth with the puck and his awareness really took a leap after the first 20-30 games last year. He would be a ppg player on a good team imo.

That updated Goathead logo looks sharp. I wish they would wear the white jersey with the black shoulder yokes but this should look good regardless.

McKinnon was a highway robbery. Tage stays on a 70pt pace hes a steal at 7mil, especially when the cap goes up and up

Fair enough, but the alternative was a gamble as well. If Thompson has another 30 goal year this year, he could have easily pulled a Reinhart and forced a trade in 11 months, or at the very least, the price would have gone up.

If he turns back into a pumpkin, sure, the team will look stupid again.

Just 24 hours ago people were saying how nice it is that Tage wanted to be here.

So which is it that a guy wants to be here or he was going to walk in 24 months if he has another good season if they didn’t get a contract done.

I remember watching Thompson in 17/18 when he was still with the Blues organization. Kid didn’t put up much offensively, but impressed me nonetheless. Can remember thinking the Blues might have drafted a hell of a player for a late 1st. Then he was traded to Buffalo and I promptly forgot about him (no offence Sabres fans).

But when he started popping off last year, I started paying attention again. And what I saw certainly didn’t look unsustainable. I wouldn’t have offered him 7+ off of one good year, though. More along the lines of 5.5/6 per would have been quite fair IMO.

That said, it won’t surprise me if he lives up to this deal.
