Let's get rid of Lowry, and then we will have nobody that can win a faceoff.
As I have said in the past, you don't get rid of someone until you have his replacement lined up.

I think Lowry is a great 4C, one of the leagues best. A perfect swap wouldbe David Gustafsson after a few years of NHL time.

Are you a Wings fan? Just wondering if you watched him all last season or not, his numbers are decent for a 3rd liner but Idk if he got most of his points shuffled up to the 2nd line due to injuries or something.

He's a decent addition for the Jets, wouldn't of been my first choice of the UFAs that remain unsigned but wouldn't of been my last either, the Jets get very little production from their bottom six and its really their biggest issue, hopefully Gagner can help change that a bit.

I am. Gagner played mostly on the 4th line, sometimes 3rd. Don’t recall him getting bumped up beyond the 3rd.

If it wasn’t for the fact that the Wings have too many forwards for the 3/4 line, I wouldn’t have minded the Wings signing him again —especially a 1yr deal like the Jets did. He may not be the best skater, but one thing that was a constant, there was no quit in him. He helped the kids, the locker room, and the pk. Being only a -4 on last seasons Wings team should tell you something as well.

If expectations are realistic, Jet fans should end up liking this signing.

LOL. You do realize that in an average game Lowry wins 7 faceoffs and loses 6.By comparison PLD and his 46% meant he won 6 and lost 7. So you are essentially keeping Lowry to win ONE extra faceoff a game.

And the Jets did have a guy who could take his spot, his name was Andrew Copp but for some reason our great GM wanted to nickel and dime him on his contracts and eventually run him out of town, even though he said he wanted to sign long term with the team.

Morgan Barron, Brad Lambert, Elias Salomonssen are well worth trading Andrew Copp for. Sure, would have been nice to have him at 3C over Lowry, but that return is fantastic. Lowry should be the 4C, which he will fit in well as. Rick Bowness is a new, unbias face, and should use him properly.

I won't complain about the return Chevy got for Copp. The problem is he doesn't want to have a rebuild and gave up the most versatile forward the Jets have for 2 draft picks that won't crack the lineup for 3 plus years.
Barron is the wild card though he might have the tools to be a really good middle 6 forward.

It's not always the number of faceoffs you win, but also when you win them.
Lowry also brings a toughness that not many other Jets/prospects bring to the table.

Sounds like a great 4th line player/extra forward.

Definitely not the player you want leading your team in ice time!
