We are good for this season, but next offseason we'll need to make moves.
- NightBeast

I'd be looking to make a move at the TDL in hopes of getting our cap sorted to a contender. Myers has the capacity to be an impact player. If we could take an expiring contract for him, it would help next offseason.

Or Garland, I suppose. With this signing, we really need to move Myers and/or OEL, but we also can't seriously run a D core of Hughes, rookies and jobbers.
- micah555

Management knows this, hard to fix, RH D are at a premium. No one’s gonna take on OEL and Myers contract.

Most likely traded in the offseason after his bonus gets paid, he'll have only 1 million salary with a cap hit of 6 million for the following season. He looks like a favorite to be in Arizona for final season or any other team in a similar position.

Ah, yes. I didn't realize it was structured that way. Would be a dream contract for Arizona. They wish their whole roster was that.

I think we need to add to the D corps at this point.

Garland, Pearson, Hoglander and even Poolman all have to be considered options to move for some help on D.

I wish they were socialists! They're are opportunistic neo-liberals. As for the Liberals for decades' comment, Harper was PM from 2006-2015. I suppose the Alberta public school system has let you down, but a decade is 10 years long, so your math is a bit suspect.

I believe the general feeling is that only Garland and to some extent Hoglander are even close to having value. Poolman isn't going to net help on D unless it's by actually playing better himself.

Welp, ride or die with Miller now, they BETTER make the playoffs and manage to win at least a round or two or this was all for nothing. I don't see how Bo stays now and how they sign EP40 next year. '100 point' man Miller better be even better than last year if he wants to justify this deal.

Point me to one public school teacher with one ounce of dignity. They are horrible people. Frightning that millions of Canadian children are enrolled in public schools. Any real conservative leader would commit to abolishing all Canadian public schools.

It’s the going rate for a almost 100 pt player. With the announcement of the cap getting a boost in the next few years, GMs aren’t worried about that. Besides the fact that some won’t be around by then. Great 1st big move by Alvin.

AGreed.

Pearson/Poolman would be garbage in/garbage out type of trade with the hopes of a reclamation prospect.

We need to trim some salary, so Garland is probably more likely in that sense.

Hoglander for Lundkvist was discussed as a potential swap of prospects recently (Nils for Nils)

True enough.

i'd still do it tho.

We got enough depth on wing, i'd roll the dice on him.

2023/24 13.5m to sign 9 players.
That is not including a cap increase. Cap went up 1m for this season. Pretty sure we can expect at least that & I’m betting on more. 2.5m?
