Being 3 deep at C is very good going forward. Idk if many teams can match that. Wing depth is also there. It’s now up to them to prove it to us & come out flying & remove any doubts. We all know we don’t give the D much luv & they will be under the microscope like never before. Fans won’t give up on harping about them unless last years run with Bruce wasn’t a mirage & we see real sustainable growth. |

Good mornin all
Well a night to sleep on the JT deal & all in all pretty satisfied mostly. The 7th year is my only concern but then again some vets have shown to be pretty resilient & if JT can keep showing his durability I can live with it. I thought 6/8.5m was the magic numbers from mgmt being it was rumoured in the low 50m range. That said 8m per was my hope & tbh I believed that a bit of a dream. JTM got himself a fair last deal & was legit on all he said about Vancouver & the opportunity given. - Nighthawk
I just hope he doesn't go back to being a 50-60 pt player. |

So they’ve now signed Miller until he’s 35, well technically 36 as he’ll turn 36 in March of the last year. But really 29-30-31-32-33-34-35 years old.
Not terrible but stuck in mediocrity, or, was Boudreau the real missing piece? |

How do you know? How do any of us know?
New pieces:
Rathbone
Martin (Halak was trash)
Kuzy
Ilya
Lazar
Joshua
Podkolzin and Demko should improve. Pouty can’t be worse than last season. Boeser will be in the A if he doesn’t improve.
Can’t really think of a player I expect to regress
A vastly different team that should be better |

They just need to keep adding to what they have. Hopefully at least a few pieces are from within. Next year Horvat's deal expires, we'll see what they do with him. Also Dermott's deal will be over so they'll have to make a decision on him.
The following year Myers, Richardinson and Pearson come off the books opening up nearly $12M in space. EP will need another deal. Between the draft and a cap rise they should be in good shape, possibly to even add an impact player through trade or free agency. |

Rathbone taking a step would be a big help. Then find the next Tanev! |

With his top line TOI & PP mins not likely for awhile. We’ll see how it goes as his contract ages. Imo he’s peaking & still 3-4 more very good years will come. After that idk. |

One injury is all it will take for him to fall off a cliff though, that's what's so dangerous about this deal, if he tanks we're stuck with him for 4 years regardless. The team really has a 2 year window to do something or else they're going to lose EP40 and have to start over again. |

Just to play devils advocate tho...
Not sure how much better Demko can be.
He had a career year last season.
Team MVP and All Star.

You should always expect every player to have a career year. |

Typical Lefty math, he is now under contract for 8 more years.

If that’s Demko’s best season that would be a big disappointment |

For goalies that played more than 33 games last season, pretty much starters.
12th in SV%
17th in GAA
13th in goals saved above expected.
He was a top tier goalie this year but was still behind many others. His numbers would most likely improve slightly if they allowed fewer scoring chances though. |

I get it, playoff revenue for one round. They set the bar pretty low imo.
