If the cap increase rate becomes a problem for enough nhl teams, they'll just change the rules, this false worrying narrative of futuristic problems is just BS, everyone made a big deal about cap recapture and look only the Canucks really got screwed, by Lugongo himself protecting the Panthers not the team that paid the bulk of the contract

Thanks Carol. I expected more out of the press conference but I guess more are to follow.

We're talking an $8M contract per year......effective next season for 7 years. It's not a 10-11M contract. It's 8M. Not ideal but also not a killer. By the end of the deal it will be easily moveable at worst.

I don't mind it. I think it's fair for both sides.

Put your hands up if you had Miller being the best player on the team
a) at the time he was traded for
b) 3 years later

Is 8M really that bad? I'd say that's 99 point player money. Thank (frank) he never hit 100.

7 years is long, he'll be 36? There are ways around it in 5-6 years, he's a bit of a bargain now.

Whats more critical to this teams long term success? A Miller in his 30's or a quality young top 2 RHD?

Why do we need to equate the two?

Why not try for both?

Most teams want a quality young top 2 RHD. Just not & never has been enough to go around.

You know as we all know that’s the top priority for JR/PA..

I figure we gave up at least 2 chances at one of those the day we traded for Miller.

What would you rather long term? Bo and Miller in their 30's or a young top 2 RHD?

These are the two players that gave this team it's best chance at acquiring a young top 2 RHD. Bo must go... or long term status quo.

Who we getting for Bo? I'm all for it if it improves the team. Bo seems to play his best when the chips are down.

Tough spot but all workable. Allvin said yesterday that they want to take advantage of Bo JT Hughes Petey and Demko and few others in their prime years and it's a short window. If there was a solid Top 2 RHD available outside of the draft/prospect persona, then maybe but it goes both ways...you want JT and Bo gone for a RHD that may/may not work out when we know what we have in Bo and Miller? Either way it's risk.

I’ll ask again. You wanna bet? And no you don’t get to donate to a charity that you already donate to if you lose. If you lose it will be something painful. You turned me down before but still keep saying the oilers will be in the SCF.

I’m thinking the Canucks with that top 9 and Demko, dispose of the Oilers in the 1st round. As a Flames fan, I’m hoping for this.
