Seems obvious to me...
Comrie is the starter getting 60% of the starts
Anderson gets 40% early on while UPL starts in the A with say 75% of the starts down there.
Somewhere in the last 3rd of the season UPL comes up and splits starts with Comrie...35% to UPL, 65% to Comrie...Andy fills in for injuries, or the occasional start.

Andy retires and hopefully takes Grandpa Girgs with him.

We paid him a couple million based on a 19 game small sample size from this last year.

Totally understandable. I'm just saying the Bills accommodated the Barkley vibes while also recognizing that Keenum is a better QB2 option. The Sabres could choose a similar path with Andy/Comrie/UPL if age catches up with CA.
