Here is a question? Who do you think will draw the ire of the BOD the most this year? Murphy, S. and C. Jones are already a given. Strome and Kubalik and Dach are gone. My guess it will be the player that lines up on LW on Kane's line, if he isn't on pace to score 40 goals (Kurashev? Anthanaseu?)

Also how long before you think the BOD comes to the conclusion that Richardson is in over his head as the head coach. I give it to midway in the firs period of exhibition game 1.

Yeah we had to win the last game and Montreal pulled their goalie in the middle of the 3rd period trying to score goals to make the playoffs on a tie breaker and handed it to us. My brother and I were listening on the radio and went crazy.

I was at that game. Montreal Coach Claude Ruel was not happy.

Then the WHA came the next year and picked the Hawks and their farm system apart (besides signing B. Hull.)

I’m wondering if the Hawks leave Reichel in Rockford for at least the start of the season. Partly to none rush his development and partly to aid the tank. I agree that Reichel seems NHL-ready and doesn’t have much to prove at the AHL level. But the Hawks brass might see it differently.

Maybe. But there might be some value to keeping him in RFD most of the year. Give him a taste of the bigs as a reward for all the hard work so far, but in general I might be inclined to keep him away from the NHL mess. Let him build chemistry and a winning culture in the AHL with his future NHL teammates. Most of the guys on the big club will be ex-teammates in pretty short order.

I think Arizona and probably Montreal (stronger division) will have worse records this year. Philadelphia could challenge for worst also.

Depends on when/if Toews and/or Kane get moved. If Kane is traded before the midpoint of the season, I don’t see how they score 3 goals in a game…ever.

I don't think Kane gets traded until close to the deadline for cap reasons. In reality outside of ADB, this team is not any worse than last year (and hopefully with a better coach, or at least coaching system).

I agree, and Mrazek getting hurt is pretty much a given considering his recent history. I just don't think they are a lock for worst record, as the team stands today.

Definitely not a lock, but they should stay within striking distance most of the year.
