Until the took his speed, and he got tentative and gone as the throw in for Pitt Martin, Goalie Jack The Future) Norris and fireplug, Gilles Mayotte who was the odd rookie dee-man out when Bobby Orr arrived three years younger and filling any spot he had the chance of filling in bean town.

Marotte was to be our enforcer.

Welcome, Zach........ IMO this is the best time to be a Hawk's blogger. You're in on the ground floor of a total rebuild of an Original 6 franchise not far from being a dynasty. The storylines will be endless with players coming and going, trades, FA signings, drafts that have a shot at generational, or superstar players, all overseen by a young green GM and his new hockey ops department as he puts his stamp on the organIzation restructuring everything. .... The storylines will be endless.

My question to you would be have you followed jr hockey at all and if so how closely? Do you follow the WJC's and Hlinka tournaments? Same for the AHL.

Listening to your podcast of the 6 month review of KD right now. Really happy you seem to be a mature guy and not a hot take make headlines loudmouth. https://open.spotify.com/...de/7acp0l5U2VsgQEdVhyQK0v

He was unsuccessful part of the Denver College UFA signings of Magnuson, and Koroll.
he has past.

Was younger than I am.

Jim Wiste was a good man. Passed away about 4 years ago in Denver. He was a hoot when he was in town rooming with "spider" Ray McKay who was a beauty himself.

Didn't Dan Maloney come in before Korab but they traded him away? One pound for pound tough SOB.
- rpeters01

Maloney had one of the best uppercuts in the game back then. And I remember being pissed cuz they traded him.

One of my good pals grew up on the same block as Bobby Hull in Addison and has many pics of playing street hockey with the Hull boys. The other "later-to-be-famous" family from the block next store was the Portillo family.

Ha, that would be Don Maloney. Dan died a few years ago while he was still in his 60's.

They aren't in Addison anymore. Oak Brook across 31st street from Ty Warner (beanie baby guy). And each house, no estate, are awesome for the kids at Xmas because each guy tries to out do the other with decorations and lights.

I definitely know people like that. Its an absolute shame that they could enjoy the ride but let greed get the best of them.

Theo and Ty were great I hope I do them justice!

You forgot JJ. I know he often gets crapped on by some posters here but I enjoyed his writing.

Except he couldn't punch his way out of a paper bag.

my old man had him convinced the Hawks were getting new unis and then dropped the punch line on him. blouses and skirts.

He gets crapped on because he was a tool and rude AF to many posters. Especially if you disagreed with him.

I completely agree, this is the best time to get in on covering this team. Super excited to see the process it takes and really get to know some of these future players.

I will follow the AHL a little bit here and there, i got in to the wolves after the head of public relations came on our show. With this rebuild I will definitely be checking out the Ice Hogs much more. As for Junior Hockey I will watch the World Championships around the holidays but thats about it.

Appreciate the kind words! My approach to my coverage of this team is "by the common fan for the common fan". I have a good understanding of the game and so will always do my best to give out the right information. Not in this to break news or create rumors.

Totally not intentional, JJ gave me some great advice a few years ago when I decided I wanted to give this sports media thing a shot.

Nah it is a BOD game that you flash the players JFresh card when it backs up your opinion of a player, but ignore it or say that it isn’t relevant when it doesn’t.

Good to be "Jaromin with you, Zach.
As in "We're jamming'..."

It was wise to seek JJ's counsel and I want to hope we drive ourselves into your life as we have to each other.

I didn't agree with him all the time but he never poop on me. I felt no disrespect. I met up with him between periods of a game at the UC once and he seemed like a good guy. At least with me.
