No, but if it was offensive I approve. It's good for people to feel the feeling of being offended, so they realize they can handle it and everything's still okay after their emotions regulate again. |

So according to a 2017 article in the National Post (sorry, can't find it now), we should expect a holiday for the Queen's funeral. Apparently it would break with tradition to not grant us the day off.
The amount of fawning over the Queen by politicians around the world makes me want to absolutely franking puke, but I realize nobody will have the nutz to point out that a heraldic position goes against our common values.
Prince Charles is a certified moron.
The notion that anyone would bow to that no-talent ass clown is revolting.
**I delted one piece here - lets not start the debate about the value or lack of value of the monarchy. That in itself is a polarizing topic for some and I'm not interested in this digresing to where those types of 'disagreements' often do.
Again this is Hockey Buzz - sure it's fine to post that a fairly big world event occurred but no need to provide an opinion on it that can spark debate. There just seem to be topics of debate where people can't agree to disagree more often than not and those topics seem to fall back to the ones we are all told are taboo at the dinner table - religion, & politics etc. Thanks for understanding** - Atomic Wedgie
I find it odd that politics and religion are taboo topics for dinner table conversation. Why would any civil discussion be off limits? |

You know why but I’ll say it - they are emotional issues for many and the “civil conversation” rarely stays civil.
If you are able to discuss those topics with people and it not regress to uncivil debate you are lucky because it’s rare.
Regardless of all that it’s not going to be permitted here. Full stop.

Not sure where I said anything about here. People can freak out over any topic but deciding not to discuss what’s going on in the world seems a little odd. |

I've been going to church lately, even though I'm not a Christian. I don't get why when they give you the body of Christ to eat it's a tasteless wafer. Why not something godlike, like an ice cream sandwich, or at least an Oreo? Huge missed opportunity there. Anyway I got a Christian to pray for the Leafs and their fans. |

I’d like to ask how your vacation was but you have been told not to engage, as I have a different points of view. It is also not a chosen, acceptable talking point.

PEI was great. Was there with my kid and his girlfriend. My wife doesn’t want to fly right now so kid said let’s go somewhere. We were in a nice AirBnB near Darnley. Had a great morning sea kayaking in Malpaque Bay, drove out to Brackley for a nice walk on the beach and visited the lighthouse and cliffs near our place at Cape Tryron. We swam every day at the local beach at Cousins Shore that was nice and secluded. Lots of great meals everywhere except the big lobster feast which isn’t as good if you don’t really like lobster. |

What people don’t know is that Winston Churchill was the world’s first capoligist. He spoke of the Leafs in his most famous speech. “Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed to so few.” |

What are the flight and Airbnb prices like? Me and a couple guys are looking to fly out there for a few days on a golfing trip.
Haven’t really looked into flights since before Covid. |

We went to PEI back in 2001 - it was a large group of us (basically some core players who hung out together from a couple of softball teams at our company - but mostly we all hung out at the after work bar). We rented two cottages, basically, in Tignish - not too far from PEI Liquor. It was pretty and relaxing. The beaches were nice, and the seawater was pretty refreshing.
It was around Canada Day, if I recall, and on the Saturday we asked if the store was open on the Monday and the guy said, "We're open every day except Christmas!". We went back the next day to fill up our daily beer supply and the store was closed! When we asked on Monday, he looked at us incredulously, "Well we're not open on Sunday!"
The very same trip, my wife - who is originally from Nova Scotia - had asked me to see if I could pick up some Chicken Fricot - an east coast stew - at he local Co-op. I asked at the Co-Op, "Excuse me, do you have any Chicken Fricot?" With the French enunciation: Free-Coh.
The guy looks confused for a second and then lowers his voice, "Sir, I don't know how to tell you this, but all Coke is chicken free." |

Flew in points so not really sure of the cash cost of flights. We also flew out of the Island Airport to avoid Pearson and because my kid lives right across the street and I could park there and we could walk.
We had a nice 4 bedroom for $1500 with taxes and cleaning charges and everything. (The price had just come down I think a couple of hundred on September 1.) It had one master bedroom, two rooms with bunks and one room with twin beds. There was a really nice kitchen, comfortable living area, good bbq, hammocks, etc. It was in a wooded area very close to its own beach and close to other beaches. |
