So,Bo needs to take a discount on both salary and term, yet everyone else signs for longterm.

I think he’ll get the Landeskog, $7 x 7 I think it was? Maybe they go the extra year and bring down the AAV a touch?

Edit, 8 x $6.875 = $55m total

Those both sound about right to me

I think the Canucks should just sign Da Haan and not bother with DeKeyser.

I’ll be happy if he makes the opening night roster, but my expectations are low
- neem55

My expectations are optimistic on the scoring side. If BB is looking for scoring from D it’s Bones that is most likely to give him it.

I think Bo is in the 7m range but the extra year will be the 7th. Any player getting 8 will have to be younger & getting JT scoring.

What is the benefit of De Haan over DeKeyser at this point? Both careers winding down these are 7th slot fill ins now. Scraps are pretty much the same.

7X7 sounds about right. Bo is trending downward a touch but still in the 65 point range if he plays the full 82 games. Which most players don't nowadays.

He’s actually not trending down, he’s basically 60 points or 60 point pace every season for the past four. He scored 31 in 70 games last year, dude is going to get paid.

Does that mean 8 year term around 7M?

It’s all UFA years so if production trend is at least steady or going up that’s close to market value.

Zero reason for Bo to accept anything less than what Pouty makes.

Seems no one is that interested in signing the greatest 4th liner ever, as Tyler Motte still can't seem to find any takers, for his services.

I think pouty has more potential to improve on his numbers than Horvat does. I could see Bo at $7.35 (or even a bit more) if the term were a little shorter, say 6 years. That would be $44.1m total. He is 4 years younger than Kadri.

He’ll likely get a 1 year $950k deal with someone, or maybe a bit more with a team who would try to flip him at the deadline (Anaheim, Phoenix)

Benning would have already inked him to a 4 year, 3.2 mil AAV contract

I don't think Benning will be returning to the NHL anytime soon, not by choice.

Someone is going to force him to work in the NHL?

Ya I could see him coming in as some team's scouting exec guy that just oversees the people that do the actual scouting.... but I think wherever he lands he'll have very little power and stuff

I don't really think that is a discount. He has only hit 60 points once. Basically a 25g 50 point player. Good on Faceoffs... Good on Def but not close to Selke level. I think 6.5 is actually the max he should get.

Landeskog has outscored Bo 0.77 to 0.63 P/Game. He actually plays physical. And his best season is 75 points in 73 games. Bo's is 61 points in 82 games. Big difference there... again 6.5 is probably an overpayment especially on 8 years.

Injuries but A fair enough point. His numbers are pretty consistent over 82 games. I hope he's healthy all year that's the biggest issue now.

He has never hit 65 points. Last year he got 52..... 65 is a career year.
