I'm very skeptical about this, but I hope you're right.
- Pat1993

that being said, I would never, never buy a Habs jersey with a RBC patch on it.
if they want to adverstize RBC or any other company, fine, their choice, but I won't walk around wearing an add.

Fair enough… Mtl doesn’t need it to survive but other teams might! I don’t think it will ever be that bad.
- andrest

yup, and they should let other teams resort to those if that's the case, without doing the same if it isn't truly necessary. there are already ads literally everywhere we go, and the ticket prices are already insane as it is, so it would be nice if some things were kept "clean" and exempt from this kind of poop lol

and you make a very good point Pat, Nadeau-Dubois made the same earlier today. I get it totally, but it's a business.
another proof that sometimes fans care more about their team than the owners or players do. we've seen that before.

he talked about the habs jersey specifically..? huh. not necessarily a QS guy, but so far I find he's been one of the more coherent and thoughtful candidates, not that it's a very hard thing to accomplish lol.

anyway I get that it's a business, and that we don't need to start panicking right away, but I don't think we should stop caring entirely about this sort of thing, even if there isn't a whole lot we can do, normalizing and accepting corporate greed would only make things worse.

I may not have any control over it but I don't have to be cool with it, no... not sure what your point is but ok, whatever.

yeah, I love the habs, but if their jerseys start looking like this

...then I might lose interest, yes. it's not even a matter of boycotting or anything, it's more the principle of being able to recognize what you're cheering for. if the team needed these ads to survive, perhaps I'd see it differently, but it's far from being the case. it's the way I see it anyway.

- Pat1993

Not being able to cheer for your team cause of the clothes they wear. It’s so weird that an attempt to stand up for principals is so amazingly shallow.

I don’t agree. And I’m sorry you got backed into a corner hence the standard general post comment. And your welcome. I was legitimately hoping you (or someone else) would help me understand the outcry over something so innocuous. Hope you have a swell evening.

you either completely ignore the significance that this jersey has for some fans, or dismiss it as being stupid. either way, I don't even know why you bother asking questions if you already had your own conclusion made in advance. what a waste of time, bye lol

So walking around with an RBC logo is walking around wearing an add but walking around wearing the Habs logo isn’t?? They’re both logos for big corporations.

sadly it probably is more interesting to talk about your groin than it is trying to explain a point of view to complete strangers over the interwebz.
