What if, and hear me out, Motte didn't want to be a leaf?! I know it's mind blowing because you know, it's the leafs, but there's a chance some players don't want to come to Toronto.

It sure didn’t help against the Lightning. Their 4th line crushed the Leafs.

Let’s say you throw Kampf between Zar and the other guy with three names. It gives you a pretty good defensive line and lets you play around a bit more with the other three. Maybe move Willie to the 3rd and try to spread out the scoring. Even if you keep Gaudette on the 4th you’ve got a much stronger line then last year

He's never scored 10 goals or more in the NHL, it's even 6 foot or 200 lbs. Overpay in my opinion by Ottawa. I'd rather have a young guy who will crash and bang to try and earn his keep on the 4th line.

Well not really since it looks like we’re upgrading the 4th line.

That’s great but of the teams that the Jays might play in a wc series, Seattle is probably the best and the Twins/Guardians are probably the worst. Maybe they’re all scared of the Jays but I’d rather play the worst team instead of the best team.

There is no need to be rude because someone disagrees with your opinion. And yes I did, just becuase someone had a good playoff doesnt' make me think a team should rush out to sign him.

There are several players who fit this catagory every single year - have a killer playoff despite not having done much most of thier careers. Of that group I would say a large % don't have that level of success again and get paid for what they did 'one time' vs what they can do (continue to do).

You feel free to be angry that the Leafs didn't sign him, I'm fine with it.
