I try to avoid these semantics arguments. I do think most agree on two points: Hayes’ contract was an overpay from the start, and additionally, he has underperformed to expectations overall in his Flyer’s stint, mostly due to injury.
Whether you choose to view his underperforming as, in hindsight, being overrated, it isn’t pertinent really. Not going to fix it and the blame remains in the same place. - NC Flyers Fan
Well the other poster claims Hayes not overrated, we just overpaid. If this were really the case, Hayes wouldn’t have been considered a high profile free agent next to those UFAs the same summer that I named, who have actually accomplished something. |

And why would Hayes be consider one of the biggest free agents of that summer next to Sergei Bobrovsky, Artemi Panarin, Matt Duchene if he wasn’t overrated? All I did was name comparable contracts. Some signed before, some signed after Hayes’ deal. Each player being much better at the same cost. I asked you to do it and you refused. - SuperSchennBros

Emil Andrae is obviously not Flyers material. If he were a true Flyer he would have got up punched the puck in the face, got stitched up on the bench and been on the ice for his next shift. Flyer’s hockey! |

Really happy to hear that Zamula has made substantial progress on gaining muscle this offseason and Wylie too apparently. It is encouraging. I want the Phantoms to do great this year. It would be one of the most positive improvements the organization could make this season.

If Cutter hits his lid, how much does that change the prospect pool? How soon and how much will it change the NHL squad.
Cutter has a very high upside, some think the lid is a 1C, the bottom is middle six, with very few thinking he could be a bust.
This year at Boston, he will play center...
I guess if I could have 1 thing happen this season, it would be that Cutter kills it and stays healthy...
1B, Flyers finish bottom 5 |

Putting on 12 pounds is amazing! Had he gained 12 total or 12 pounds this past off season?
If that's in one summer i want to train with his nutritionist and trainers, too |

That would be my guess. I would rather it be him than a young player. I want to see as many young guys playing as many minutes as possible.

If it were a year where I would like the team
To win games id disagree. Not so much against the younger player, but that Nick Seeler playing ~35 games is not a recipe for success. |

I would rather it be him sitting in the pressbox than Zamula, Andrae, Attard etc.

To start the season. I don’t think Andrae or Attard are even actually up for consideration. Zamula had gotten games before, I don’t think he’s as far out as you think. |
