They have so many more options upfront if they move Kerfoot. If they make a move on defence, I just don’t see any good way to fit a square peg into the round R-side Holl.
- Canada Cup

I agree I think Kerfoot is moved before Holl is.. They can plug someone in at 2LW until someone clicks with JT and Nylander.. If they move Holl, than they have to get a replacement RHD

Robertson is you could find a taker ... in a heartbeat. D is more valuable than a F who's yet to grab a spot, no matter what you think of Sandin current situation.

- dozerD10

Robertson literally just turned 21 and has had multiple unfortunate injuries slowing his progress, much like Liljegren did. But has also been the Marlies best player when healthy.

So I fully stand by "a F who's yet to grab a spot", being a pretty ridiculous take currently.

Bigger question for me is what do they do if/when they sign Sandin?

They're at the Cap now with 12F/6D/2G .....would need to have a trade ready to go I think. I still assume Holl for futures could happen really quick if needed.

Should've happened m̶o̶n̶t̶h̶s̶ years ago. Regardless of anything else.

I'm with you, Holl shouldn't be a Leaf anymore, but I still think Kerfoot would be dealt first

Maybe, but I don't think he should be.

Kerfoot is at least good at his job and can be slotted into multiple roles. Holl has one job and fails constantly at it. Sandin was terrible on the right side and he was still, at worst, as effective as Holl.

Punt Holl out the door as soon as possible and try Muzzin on RD.

And I guess at his new price tag Engvall could be a trade/cap savings option as well.

On Kerfoot - it could be ....I think it'd be easier to find a rental top 6 winger come deadline time too ..so that might factor into the decision.

If it were really a preferred option for Duby I just would have expected a Kerfoot trade to have happened back in June/July.

Muzzin struggled on the left side, I don't know if he can play the right side.. Plus, it's a known fact that Muzzin will get injured in early october and be out for 6-8 weeks

Ok, if he gets hurt it's still Sandin-Replacement > Sandin-Holl

But I think a healthy and ready Muzzin can play the right side. And if not, Gio can do anything. I hate to break up an incredible pairing of Gio and Liljegren, but if it has to happen, it's vastly superior than Holl ever touching the ice.

I agree with this CC.

If Holl is out, #4RD is empty...and Holl sucks but he's not worse than no one...not quite anyway.

We have a surplus of Kefoots now: Kampf, Jarnkrok, ZAR-who played with Crosby, maybe even Gaudette and a few of the other prospects. Some good for utility some good-not great for LW with Tavares.

We have more than enough LDs , even if the Muzz gets injured again.

To me, it's Kerfoot and Sandin and Holl that need to go in a trade

Kerfoot and Sandin for a RD +.

Holl's cap space with the + from Kerfoot trade plus a pick/prospect from the Leafs for a LW for Tavares.

It's not going to happen but that's the only strategy that seems to help for both situations.

I’d simplify it. Trade Kerfoot which provides flexibility to move guys back and forth from the Marlies as required and then see where thing sit at the TDL and move then.

Meh, I don't think it's that bad.

And honestly, he hasn't had an huge contracts to bank on, he's taken a while to get to where he is. He also won't have a chance at another one, so I would have done the same, in his shoes.

On, nice. Was wondering why there was no one talking in the one Twitter gave me.

And it was the Leafs that gave me that link, too. Bastards.

Would you pay more for a 29th overall who has yet to become a permanent NHLer even tho he’s heading into his 5th pro season?

I wouldn’t.

- Dozzer

he is 22 for crying out loud.

Same thing you were saying about Liljregen last year, maybe learn from that?

Why? He was saying no deals on the ice. Keep your heads up boys. MacKinnon thought it was funny.
