It's almost like 32 NHL GMs agree that there's more to a player's worth than stats on a spreadsheet. |

Nice, if that could translate to the NHL that would be a huge bonus for the bottom 6. - 668710
He probably needs to be somewhat of an enforcer to make it to the NHL. Honestly he still isn't even able to stay in the WBS line-up on talent alone. Frequent healthy scratch. |

I mean I'd rather have Milano on a PTO than Archibald and his signed contract. |

I'd rather have Archibald at his signed contract then McGinn at his signed contract so progress.
Oh wait Ruuta. |

Thanks for the update, I didn't know that happened last season. But like Grinder said in the last thread, at least he's trying something different because what he was doing wasn't working. I'll be watching him this training camp and preseason along with Puustinen. Also, when did Poulin start playing center? |

We'll I'd move on from quite a few contracts lol. I was thinking in the bubble of between Archi and Milano haha. Wasn't going that deep |

Haha. In practice I don't mind Archibald's contract because he's fine as a 12-13 guy who could get waived without penalty if a prospect pushed past him. I don't trust Sully to play the young guy over a vet though. |

About half way through the year Poulin moved to center and started playing really well. Ended as WBS's top line C and second scorer (not counting Nylander who wasn't there the full year).
Honestly think people were too down on his first year. Wasn't showing like a star, but for a 20-21 year old that's a fine first pro season and on track for the NHL IMO. I keep hearing most of his class has already played so he's a bust, but how often does that happen? That draft class was pretty loaded.
Legare though was a 4th liner and healthy scratch down the stretch and in the playoffs. That's what I'd call a disaster. |

Yea Archie is the perfect guy to have sitting in the press box and play if there's a pop up injury/Covid. But again Sully haha. |

Interesting, wonder if we have potential bottom 6 center with him. I'd like to see him play center in the preseason. |

This is nice to read. Even if he became an effective regular 4th liner I'd be happy with it. |

Where's chalk and cheese...aka Rino and Feds....polar opposites that said things around here that kept people talking. Especially Rino, he could chat about Pens all day and started a lot of convos. |

He left because he didn't like people who disagreed with him politically.

Yeah, I was here the day he said peace out but hoped he'd get over it come back. I mean, its the f'n internet, who cares what anyone says or thinks haha. I didnt always agree with his opinions on the Pens and their players but I still think he was one of the more frequent contributors around here.

Monday morning quarterbacking at its best Ryan. Who’s to say Hextall didn’t reach out to Milano and he rejected the deal? Maybe he circled back to Heinen then. Just like you complained about signing Kapanen over Rodrigues. Rodrigues was offered a 3 year $10.5 mil contract and he turned it down so he was never signing here. G.M.’s have to make moves quickly in free agency and if you don’t take their offer they move on and fill up the roster the best they can within the cap. |

There’s been (frank) all to talk about. I wouldn’t bet on him being gone for good. Just peak offseason.
What are we supposed to do? Yell into the void about figuring out a way to sign Sonny Milano for two straight months until he eventually got a PTO with the Flames? |

Obviously a massive contract, no question, buts it's a smaller overall % of total team cap than McDavid's when he signed his. Also, I've read quite a few things predicting that the cap ceiling will be having significant increases in the near future/coming seasons. That would very good for the Avs....and too bad it wasnt this season and last for the Pens haha...if the cap is a lot higher in 3 seasons from now will it make a huge difference for the Pens? I dont think so, never know though. |
