I just remember when the Rangers traded for Adam Fox.
Many complained that we gave Carolina TOO MUCH, that Gorton got fleeced by including a conditional second draft pick ( which turned into a 2nd rounder ). The claim that Carolina had no leverage and Gorton just caved. Does anybody even care anymore --- WE GOT ADAM FOX!
Maybe Dallas thinks the same way in this deal, they got Lundqvist and they didn't have to give up any roster players to obtain him. We shall see....

As i wrote, could be a win win for both teams. Rangers deal someone who wouldn’t report and was blocked and Dallas gets a second pair RH d-man who still has a ton of upside.

Hopefully he wasn’t traveling companions with Thomas Vanek.

Yes by all means, let's ignore the facts that one was a free agent while the other was an extension of a player under contract, still riding the high of winning the cup 3 months ago. Exactly the same scenario, isn't it?

Kind of surprised Bill Meltzer or another blogger didn't cover this story from the Dallas Stars point of view.
