i'm no nighthawk, more of a morning person these days...
But i'd wager the lineup will look something like...
Garland—Miller—Boeser
Kuzmenko—Pettersson—Mikheyev
Pearson—Horvat—Podkolzin
Joshua—Lazar—Richardinson
Ekman-Larsson—Hughes
Rathbone—Myers
Dermott—Poolman - dbot
After seeing how both Pearson and Bo played better the minute they were split up, I don't know why people go Green and put them back together again.

Vasily Podkolzin—J.T. Miller—Brock Boeser
Andrei Kuzmenko—Elias Pettersson—Mikheyev
Tanner Pearson—Bo Horvat—Conor Garland
Dakota Joshua—Curtis Lazar—Jason Richardinson
Oliver Ekman-Larsson—Quinn Hughes
Jack Rathbone—Tyler Myers
Travis Dermott—Luke Schenn
Yours is pretty close to what iMac. (See above)
I have tough time seeing Rathbone-Myers pairing working. - manvanfan

I could also see the above.
I like the idea of stacking a line.
option 2 would be more spread out with some pairings that have had success and adding the Russians around them.
Podkolzin—Pettersson—Boeser
Kuzmenko—JTM—Garland
Pearson—Horvat—Mikheyev
Joshua—Lazar—Hoglander
But yeah, our D depth sucks. |

Meh.
Pearson-Horvat-Miky could be a pretty decent '3rd line/shutdown/counter punch line'
Use em on the PK too.

I have a little giggle any time Petey isn’t put in someone’s top 6. It will be interesting what Boudreau does though

Hughes and Myers never worked so Rathbone who is similar to Hughes.
I'm sure iMac had some insider info when he posted those lines.

Pretty sure Boudreau was quoted as saying Miller/Horvat/Pettersson we’re all going to play C. Pettersson was also playing C down the stretch with Podkolzin, while Miller had Pearson and Garland. Coaches are creatures of habit. I also wouldn’t put much stock in “line 1”, “line 2”, “line 3”.
Edit - yup
“We’ll have to wait to see what those combinations will look like, but Boudreau has indicated that he’ll spread out Pettersson, Horvat, and J.T. Miller as centres on three separate lines.” |

Bruce liked and had success with both Pearson and Garland with Miller. There's a good bet you will see at least one of them with Miller. I try to keep in mind what worked last season.
Bruce also had success splitting up Petey and Miller. It's likely we see that again. |

They actually worked well in QH rookie season according to a break down of QH's pairings and his numbers at the end of the year. I forget which media covered it but it was a narrative buster. |

so once again, it's our 4th line that is holding us back from being a true contender.
- dbot
Need to go with the old Leafs model. All 3rd and 4th line players to make 975K each and we'll have ourselves a contender.
3 players in the Brendan Gaunce style should suffice for the 4th line. Players you win with. |

Gotta love it when the coach/GM says one thing, media says something else and the moron fans start following along with the media.
As someone posted earlier, people get caught up in this 1st line 2nd line 3rd line bs, when 3 lines will be playing roughly the same amount of time and the Canucks 3 best players, Horvat, Miller and Pouty will be interchangeable on icetime leader for the forwards, throughout the season. |

Hogs biggest limitation right now is Boudreau's doghouse. If he gets the TOI and right linemates he'll be fine. |

Less about lines and much about usage during games that made a difference in results between Green and Boudreau. |

Groups were just released for the day.
By the looks of NHL talent in each group.
Group A has Boeser, Miller Pearson. OEL and hughes.
Group B has hoglander, petey, mikky, aman, karlsson, kuzmenko. Myers with a host of AHL lefties and Dekesyer
Group C has horvat, Garland, Podkolzin. Schenn, rathbone, dermott, poolman. Lazar, richardson, joshua. |

Idk if you saw the tweet I posted the other day about the significant difference in the way the two coaches used their players. I was just going off that. |

Yeah, I saw that, but I think Pettersson being absolute trash before Green was fired, likely partially due to still being injured, and on fire after Green was fired had something to do with it. I’m sure there are other examples like this as well.
I’m not dismissing that the way Boudreau used players didn’t impact the outcome, just think players performed closer to expectation after. |
