Darcy Regier made savvy trades for both Briere and Drury well before the Sabres were "ready to compete", and he could be as passive as they come. I don't need a playoff spot this year. I do need something that shows the standard is higher. At least create some competition for meaningful roster spots. They're essentially handing Quinn and Peterka spots instead of making them earn it.

who's the next Anthony Cirelli in the NHL

it may very well be Cozens

That's what I'm saying. If you want to go that route, you need to find another center at least of equal caliber of those two.
- buffalofan19

it won't be casey

it may be krebs or one of the 3 first rd picks

I don't care about this at all. Printing a decent ticket is a friggen rounding error to them. They're rich enough to make other NHL owners look like paupers. Putting a competitive product on the ice and making the fan experience as good as it possibly can be is how you put butts in the seats. And, when they do that, they will profit again.

Use the $20 million you're not spending on talent and do something for the fans paying to see your team.

1) If you don't care that they are losing millions, then their personal economic stature should be out of bounds as well.
2) are fans really paying to watch the games though? Sure, 6,500 diehards are...there are plenty who are not and won't until the team turns it around. Not sure in 2022 I would spend the money for 5 fans who want a high quality printed ticket...I mean if was 1960 sure.

How do we feel about the dolphins with the potential of no hyde/white/jackson?

But maybe getting back settle/oliver

I'm like 5% worried about it. Dolphins vs Bills is the old Bills vs Pats. They gotta prove they can do it before I think it'll happen

All he had to do was find a NHL goalie at some point between the '21 offseason and now. He's had about 8 come through and they all suck. (Hey, I wonder if the analytics department recommended any of them?) I said many times, all I needed to see was a goalie and I'm good. Nope, that was too much to ask for.

Will you call WGR and publically admitt you were completely wrong and Adam's and team are geniuses if he posts starters numbers?
Seems absurd to be going off before you have seen him play.

I think hyde goes

johnson is on year 5 as a bill
neal is on year 5 as a bill
year 4 as a bill for jacquan johnson

I think frazier has the guys to make it work, if he has the right game plan

If Cozens and Thompson both end up as consistent 70 point Centers, that will go a long way, but I'm not sure it will be enough.
- kingcong39

Building a team around 2 #1OA LD's is an interesting experiment.

They don't have an elite C, but they also don't have elite wingers. To contend, they really need a prospect to turn into that guy. I don't think you win anything with Tage as your top F.

The pass rush has been very good the pass couple of weeks. It will need to be again this week. Remember, Jordan Poyer did knock him out the first play of the game last year.

1) I'm sure Kim appreciates you protecting her yachting lifestyle, but I still don't care about it. They're going to make money regardless; their other team prints it at a religious level. If you're owning an NHL team as profit making venture and that team isn't named Rangers, Leafs, or Habs you need to have a winning product on the ice in order to sell out the rink 41 times a year and make money. Not nickle and diming your STHs along the way would help too. But winning would help more. One of the secrets to the Yankees being able to print money is they have been in the playoffs 24 of the last 28 years in league where it used to be hard to make the playoffs, and fans reward them. Yankee stadium used to be a ghost town when Don Mattingly played even though they had the same vaunted history.

2) I've never in all the hundreds of games I've been to heard a fan call for another gimmick night, but we get a new one of those every season. I have often heard STHs complain about how they've seen their tickets get shlttier and shlttier every season. Far more than you'd like to admit. For whatever reason. Lord knows we don't want Kim have to rent a mega yacht someone else has walked on before.

Like I said, unless you find some top end forward talent from somewhere, you're looking to be the Suter/Weber Nashville Predators.

So they should have traded assets for DeCat to enable them compete for positions?

They have a terrific player development coach in Granato. They will get meaningful minutes and compete against the opposition while being coached by one of the best at it in the league.

Relax...let's see what happens.

Hey, does anyone of the naysayers have the winning numbers for Sat's drawing?

Sure. If Comrie starts 45 games and posts a % .915 or above (hell, I'll be happy with .910) I'll will happily call WGR to let them know I dropped 2k on playoff tickets and KA is the franchise savior. No doubt about it.

And, I've not even called WGR to slam Adams yet. That will happen or not after the first 10 are in the books and we see what Comrie looks like. I experiment with positions here usually before I call in for a good ole rant.

$1 per pair per game printed basically.
$40 for 41 games.

The hard copy tickets as a gift has some value.

Some people are still old school as well.

Can/do you trade dahlin for a 1C?

That's an option, especially if he gets really expensive.

What does it take for the Dolphins to get a level of support akin to a Florida college football team? Do they need something like 10 wins first?

tage was 8th in goal scoring for centers and 19th overall in goals scored
- homiedclown

It doesn't have to be all goals, depending on Krebs and where he slots in, there's potential for 40 or so assists alone. Sabres have the potential with the Wingers coming through the system to roll 3 very good lines. Does Cozens have the potential to be a 30 30 guy, I do. A lot of hoping and if. But the potential is very much there.
