Gallant also says that the plan is for Sammy Blais to start at RW on the top line with Kreider and Zibanejad. #NYR

he says Kravtsov will start on the second line with Panarin and Trocheck. Big opportunity. #NYR

kid line remains in tact

They love minimizing the amount of skill on Mika's RW

Gallant says Lafreniere will start at LW, but that it's all subject to change. #NYR

That why I hate the kid line staying together. They will play 13 minutes per night with no PP time and put up 35 points again. Rather them play big minutes. Like Blais but hes not a 1st line player at all. Never will be

Just as long as it's not Dryden Hunt on the top line

i agree with the fact that whatever helps us win is best and that the lines are likely to change at some point. However, our coaches seem to love trying these cutesy lineup moves where they plug a bottom 6 guy on the wing of one of our top lines as if we lack enough skill depth to load our top 6. Fast, Hunt, Goodrow, etc at the expense of young players' icetime. I'm happy Kravtsov is getting an opportunity to show what he's made of though.

I don't think it will last, but I think Blais assignment while playing with those guys will be just to go into the corners and bang everything he sees and create havoc

Who will play on the bottom D pair?

GG: "I don't know. Training camp will decide that. Schneider is going to be there. You know that. The top five is there, and then there’s a fight for that spot."

Laf can get into the dirty areas too though. Especially as he grows his game. I just don't want to see him getting 12-14 min a game for another season. Hopefully they find minutes for him

Just dont see the logic in Gallants line combos that have now exploded in all our heads! Blais on the top? Come on man, it needs to be either Kaako or Lafreniere, then you csn put Kravtsov and Blais with Chytil. Def want to see the big guy Rydhal in 4 slot next to Reeves and Goodrow, that line will dole out the punishment! Come Gerard, get your head out of your arse!

Your best players need the most minutes. The kid line defeats that. Gallant trying to get to cute with the lines. It’s early and hopefully won’t last

Kinda harsh.
I refuse to believe that we know better than the guy the club decided to pay $14M to spend all his time instructing, evaluating and mentoring these guys. Especially when the vast majority of our "insight" comes from draft class, past performances and our own expectations of what should constitute a good career.
