He was terrible. Hanging on to a coach for far too long, and failing to bring in actual young elite talent.
Fletcher I would say has been far worse, as he’s bled far more assets, and hurt the teams future with piss poor contracts.
Both have been bad. There is solace however in knowing that the scouts mentioned, or other men in long held positions have retained their jobs through both GM’s.
Yet we hear a lot about accountability, and a locker room resting on its laurels.
Perhaps Bill could enlighten us why the same standard isn’t applied to men in hockey ops? - FlyerFan3260
The latter has been far worse lol |

We aren't questioning it because of talent level or on ice performance. We question it because we don't believe the organization knows what it is doing. - MBFlyerfan
Agreed. A lot of youth has slipped through our fingers because we trusted UFA first, just for our youth to have a successful career else where. Patrick Maroon and Patrick Sharp just off the top of my head. |

Ivan Fedotov dropped his lawsuit yesterday
He will continue to serve time in the Navy at this time
Flyers now have the choice to freeze his contract. |

As I said before losing one player for any length of time should not be a devastating blow to the team if it’s built right.
I’m not even counting Ellis as I believe CF knows he won’t be playing anytime soon.
Maybe Dave Scott can talk to Greg Abbot and Ron Desantis about sending some “fans”
To fill the stands because I think attendance will be pretty bad. |

Is Rick Bronwell still there? Holy crap. The Flyers list 3 equipment managers and 3 assistant equipment managers. Do teams normally carry that many equipment guys? - Minnyhock
Well one is bound to get hurt for the rest of the season so backups can’t hurt. |

Illegal Immigrant night would be a good marketing campaign. Have several for the different nationalities.

Chuck has had an incredible amount of bad luck. As you've seen from the comments when he was hired, this team was primed to take the next step into a legit Stanley Cup contender.
Injuries have derailed that.
Fletcher has been a good soldier and loyal member to the Flyers. He deserves his place in the upper strata of the organization along such luminaries as Paul Holmgren and Bobby Clarke.
Danny Briere will do a nice job by earning himself a nice promotion, also a very good solder for the organization. He will lead them to the promised land and a return to glory as all this bad luck revolving injuries simply won't continue. |

I really do wonder what the leash on Chuck is. If they come out losing like that are out of it by Black Friday and the building is empty (a very likely scenario), you'd think Chuck would be canned wouldn't you? - Hextall271
The conventional wisdom based on the sound bites that Scott supports him is nonsense.
What is he supposed to say? This team is made in his image, and he shoulders the blame. Every team has injuries.
Fletch gone by Xmas.

"Bad luck" has no business being used as criteria to evaluate a performance.
You decide how they navigate it.
Fletcher sucks. Despite Bills constant equivocation towards the Flyers.

I’m pretty sure that entire post was sarcastic lol
At least Clarke won’t be around much longer to keep railroading the franchise.
Adored by the old folks. Enemy#1 for anyone under 40. Some legacy he’s built himself. |

Chuck’s 1st draft in Minny in 2009 was an excellent one. Nick Leddy in the 1st round, Kuemper in the 6th and Haula in the 7th. It was incredibly bad luck that he traded Leddy and Kim Johnson for Cam Barker. More bad luck followed.

It was but I still think we are assuming everything is hunky dory.
I call BS. No one, including the owners, can be satisfied with the state of the team.
Quickest way to change that is new front office. |

I can't blame the team too much for the Maroon situation, but the Sharp trade was one of the worst NHL trades of the past 20 years. I wonder if Clarke overruled any scouts when he decided to move Sharp for Matt Ellison.

The Flyers organization did tell us that Farabee got disc replacement in June. It was done by the same surgeon who did Couturier's unspecified back surgery in February.
https://www.nbcsports.com...-miss-rest-2021-22-season
https://www.phillyvoice.c...rgery-chuck-fletcher-nhl/ - Feanor
Every time they do a plan for treatment, it seems it fails.
1. Couts:
a. first injury in the region (last year): Try to play through it: Fail
b. Try non-surgical treatments: Fail
c. Surgery almost 3 months after being shut down, recovery 3 months, should be fully ready for training camp: Fail (likely fail, given the re-injury in the same area)
d. Now, back to trying non-surgical treatments (And I am pretty sure that will fail, given the specificity of ASF's story).
2. Hayes:
a. Surgery May 2021. Declared fit. Fail
b. Surgery again in 2021. Declared fit. Plays for a long time looking horrible. Fail
c. Surgery again in 2022 in the same area. Lets see if it withstands the season.
I am not even mentioning Ellis, and before that, NP.

So Taryn Hatcher no longer doing Flyers pre and post game? What reason is there left to even attempt to tune in now? |

Beat your drum all you like. One of us is wrong and the other is right. Guess which guy you are. Nick D is gonna have to fall down a flight of stairs and sustain a career ending injury in order to not be a regular in this line up. |
