I love this cold weather. Nice bowl of tomato bisque, and diet Pepsi with lemon and lime. Fish and chips. Tonight a beach bonfire with weiners and marshmallows and a swim in Lake Ontario to kick off cold swimming season.

Cuisine might be a bit much to describe smoked meat, hot dogs, pea soup, hot chicken sandwiches and poutine

Imagine if Canadian cuisine had been dominated by Anglo influence. It doesn't bear thinking of.

It's all the food of the world, really. That's why Toronto is one of the best food cities in the world.

But there are certain things, like bloody Caesars. That's how to tell if someone is really Canadian, if they know what that is.

All canadian and northern european food is just preferences borne out of the old-timey nostalgia of having to pull 6 month old vegetables out of the root cellar in the middle of february.

If you have curry, you don't need anything else.

Southern food does beat Northern food. Give me Italian and nothing else for life and I'd die fat and happy.

Agreed, in fact you could tell me that I would only eat Spaghetti Bolognese for every meal until I die and it wouldn't bother me too much

Eh i don't think they're going to be great by any stretch. A little older, a little more tired, a little weaker.

Lots of injuries to start. They might be out of it by the time the injured guys get back.

Agreed. That's my firing squad meal. I'd shed a tear for pancakes and burgers and stuff, but gimme the wiseguy cookbook any day.
