I’m a tad worried about it being in PEI during Fiona, but thankfully the winds are primarily going to be from the north and northwest and the beach on our place is southeast and down a hill so flooding isn’t a big concern. Mainly winds but it’s a solid cottage which has insulation and heating (made to be livable during winter) and loads of trees around it so needless to say my fingers are crossed but I feel good about it.

Here’s a pic of the place from a couple years ago:

Writing off a kid that just turned 21 is crazy.

But what if it's actually a reaction royale with cheese?

Try to take it a bit easier next time around ok??

Not easy, I know...

Well a recent blessing has been finding out I can jam again… so even tho playing in a band is no longer a priority it’s a couple really old friends who were last playing together in 2008 just having fun again. Even did a couple very small live shows… but lighting doesn’t bug me post lobectomy anymore and my gf bought me a new bass because me not playing anymore was not acceptable to her.

I’m glad I bought in Oakridge when I did! I just beat the boom by a few years!

3 bedroom, with an open concept for the rest of it (except for the bathroom lol)

And a covered porch which I love… being able to sit outside to watch a storm is so damn nice

One of my absolute favourite things I used to do at my cottage back in the day. Sit with a rye & coke and enjoy the show.

Oh man covered porches are fantastic… yes we’re in a smaller place atm but it’s big enough for two of us and we have a covered front porch that’s rather large. Nice part about the current rental is that we face North but have it protected by very old trees (the walnut is a pain in the ass but we bought a car cover to protect my girl’s white BMW lol) and the houses on either side are closer to the street which essentially boxes us in. I’ve watched both rain and snow storms outside with a drink and not a flake or drop even touched our porch.

This place was ridiculous… I have no idea why it wasn’t taken care of… when we rented it we knew there were flower gardens but full of crap bushes… pulled everything out and cut back the lawn and discovered they’re actually surrounded by brick… looks great if you spend an hour a week staying on top of it.

Before:

And after we gutted it (there’s stone gardens uncovered by the trees just like this as well):

And now (why our landlords like us I think lol):

Yeah, that's a huge improvement to the everything. Did you need to get their approval to do the touch-ups, or were they cool with you just doing your thing?

Putin seemingly imploding.

Not the most popular man in Russia right now. I'll be curious to see if he ends up a victim of his own tactics. Some polonium pasta with a side of cyanide beer maybe?

My cottage and camp are within a few KM's of where the eye hits Nova Scotia.

A tad nervous I must say today. Models show 90 ft waves.
