Thanks Carol!
I’m not convinced that Pouty is a top line centre. I like my centres to be big, mean, and strong on their skates. I don’t think EP will ever be that. - bloatedmosquito
So McDavid isn't a top line centre? |

? I think McDavid is two out of the three things I like in my centre. He’s got some size but he’s definitely super strong on his skates. I haven’t seen him play enough to know if he has a bit of meanness to his game. |

Excited for Sunday! This is the first year in a while it almost feels like there will be a surprise 'didn't make it' vs. a surprise 'did make it' which shows our depth is better.
With QH going to the right side, I hope OEL piles up some points.
I like the idea of Pearson (he is decent and can finish) with Miller and Boeser.
Good stuff! |

Questions if Petey will be playing C to start the season are pretty much cleared up by Bruce's comments.
I stand by my prediction that at least one of Pearson and Garland will be on Miller's wing. Bruce immediately goes with Pearson. Why not? It was effective last season and 3 seasons of watching Bo and Pearson not do anything impressive together has that as a last resort for me... Both players are better both offensively and defensively apart. Don't go Green! |

EP has a bit of a mean streak to him and has a defensive game Oilers fans wish McDavid had.

i'd be happy with Pearson on the 4th line as well and plug in Hogs with Bo and a Ruskie.

$3,250,000 for a 4th line player.

He was “laughing at” people who pencil in Pettersson as the “3rd line” C. |

I couldn't care less.
Jason D!ckinson is also overpaid for a '4th line' role.
Play them where they're most effective and if a cheaper guy is a better fit on our legendary top 9, so be it.

Ah.
I'm not fussed tbh.
We've finally got some depth at C, which means that not everyone can be on the 1st line.
Let's just call them all alpha's and be done with it

You'd be better off trading/waiving him than turning him into a 4th liner.
Also Nil's b*itch will be an AHLer.

I disagree with the trading/waving him.
We always need the depth when injuries happen.
Could be right about lil Nils, i still think he has heaps of potential myself.

I think Bruce looks more for success than happiness with his lines. Although success should bring happiness... which brings the question up why you would be happy with Pearson on Bo's line or the 4rth line? Past history doesn't show much success on Bo's line(we found out later it was counterproductive) and he is probably a waste on the 4rth... Miller played well with Pearson. That frees up more scoring choices for the Petey and Bo lines.

I still think Pearson is a responsible defensive player and can chip in 15-20g.
I could see him in a 'shut down' line with Bo and Miky.
OR
on a 4th line role if coach feels there are better fits elsewhere in the lineup.
I still think he'd be effective on a 4th line...more so than Joshua.

Pearson and Bo regardless of being labeled "shut down line" by Green never were that great at it together. Pearson and Miller were better at that task and were better offensively on top of that. Bo was better offensively and defensively without Pearson as well...
I really don't get this shut down label with Bo and Pearson. Bo's line doesn't need to be reduced to this again. He flourished without Pearson. Pearson was effective without him. It should be a last resort when other options fail after we saw what Green did to Bo's line for 3 season's with this crap. Miller 99 points and Pearson was with him for a significant part of it. Bo broke 30 goals but was struggling until Pearson was removed...
