When isn't Twitter a poop show. It can be good for news updates and there are some funny accounts but 99.9% of it is complete trash.

Bellows isn't an NHL player, at least not an everyday one. His days are numbered with this team. If I thought they had a better option as an extra forward I'd be saying that I think he was going to be waived and sent to Bridgeport or claimed

I'll hold out hope a little bit longer and see what he does with this last opportunity he has... ... ...but you may be right.

I'm rooting for him, I just think that at this point if he hasn't proved he can carve out some sort of niche on the starting roster then it's not going to happen. It'll be 7 years with the organization at the conclusion of this season. If he can't figure out a way to stick around by that time then he's gone...and rightfully so.

Yep. It'd be a shame because he has some positives...the shot, obviously, but also a willingness to mix it up physically a bit. Just can't seem to put it all together as either a legit goal scorer or a solid checking forward.

Yeah, it seems like he's not skilled enough offensively (outside of his shot) to make that shot a weapon. And not reliable enough defensively to make his physicality useful. He's just kinda stuck in the middle.

I know it is pre-season but the theme of not being able to score goals is still the 900 lb gorilla in the rink.

Im glad Lane's easing of the overly defensive ( offense restrictive ) structure seems to be helping on the offensive side and not hurting on the D side

If you didn't watch the "highlights" of the first pre-season game yet... Barzal still likes to give the puck away at the blueline causing odd man rush or break-aways. He did it at least 3 times in that game.

Agreed. Seems like he doesn't play with enough intensity......at least not on a consistent basis. And as you guys have said, his skill level isn't high enough to compensate.

Who doesn’t mind getting a ban and dropping this on the Leafs thread? Dayum

"Patrick Kane has stated several times that he does not want to be a Leaf, and that he wants to go to a team that he feels actually has a chance at the Stanley Cup." Weekes said on ESPN radio last week.

I feel like if Kane publicly took a dump on the Leafs that lots of real reporters would be talking about it, not just a bunch of anonymous hockey news blogs

I haven’t really looked into it yet but it’s a direct quote from Kevin Weekes on NHL Network no?

Edit; ESPN radio

Google the quote. Unless Kevin Weekes is lying, which I doubt, it’s legit.

I don’t give a poop. They’re used to me crapping on the leafs. I’ll drop it in there.
