I think the Hawks will draft 4-6 in 2023. The team will be much better than expected, which is a failure. |

Vlasic is 21 years old, was solid last year, why put him in the minors if he can compete at a NHL level? Its not like he's a tiny 18 year old who's going to be destroyed by men. If forwards are able to walk around him and he's always a step behind sure, but if he's not, let him learn with the big boys. - BetweenTheDots
Take the Reichel approach with him. majority of the season in Rockford, first man up if needed to that experience.
What I think gets over looked a lot is that being in Rockford isnt a punishment. Having the guys that are expected to be a major part of this teams future playing together and meshing in Rockford to me is much more valuable than throwing them on the sinking ship in a no win situation all in the name of learning with the big boys. |

He might be on a sinking ship but I'm sure he'd be happier while learning making over $800k than $70k in the minors. Blackhawks also burnt a year of his contract, so we'll see, but I'm thinking he's going to be in the NHL, maybe not. Also, i think Vlasic played 2 years of college and is older than Reichel

Savoie with the dirty POS butt end on Lucas Raymond.
Soderblom solid but needs to control rebounds better. He also is on his ass a bit too much.
Impressed with KK, Roos, Phillips and Regular on the D. Allan was solid also.
Nothing to see from the forwards. Reichel nice finish on that pass from KK, but didn’t do much else. |

Box plus one defense is the first step into the right direction for this org.
Soda looked good
Just got to say it, 2 nights of watching this defense the one dman that looked out of position a lot was my guy #5. |

For sure, its all speculation on our part and honestly both ways make sense.
I definitely feel like he is going to be on the team to start the season and once McCabe is ready to get back out there if Vlasic is going to be odd man out, i personally would much rather him be in Rockford getting regular ice time than 7th guy. But we will see

No one yet has volunteered that Soderstrom could become pretty good. No one has said that he is a great goaltender prospect. A good prospect; that is a fair evaluation probably. As a young goaltender it is not surprising to read where he has some things to work on.
I would bet that Comesso is very comparable.
Together we can tuck away the idea that they may be a tandem n Chicago in a few years. Of course this is premature Yet we do want to see them keep developing this season
One point though that stands out at least about Soderstrom, is how he won games for Rockford where his team was clearly the inferior team.
I don't see this happening in Chicago this season, at least over a stretch of games. However perhaps he gets a spot start at the NHL level due to an NHL injury. Maybe he steals a game or two.
I wonder what 6628 thinks about Soderstrom in particular. By virtue o his AHL experience he may be deemed closer or more ready for NHL than Comesso.
We may may have seen a bit more of Comeso in the Olympics than Soderstrom cup of coffee. Who do you have a hunch turns out the better NHL goaltender? |

I remember King being asked about Soda last year and he said oh yea he'll be up here soon, said it with exuberance.

I know that most teams use some sort of push em back break out on the PP and at least Korchinski is not dropping it blindly back but, I do wonder when he is going to get lit up when he turns his back to the opposing team and he hangs onto the puck a second too long. |

Seriously one of the best long passes from a rookie d-man to center ice thru heavy traffic I’ve seen in a lonnnnnggggg time! Unbelievable!

I don't think he'll be sitting at all, as of now he's the best LD man this org has. |

Regula had a very good game last night. I would have him on the roster before Vlasic. More pro experience, and the Hawks need someone to be at the point on PP2, unless you think C. Jones can handle it.

The Pizza's are correctable, not many defenseman can foresee let alone make that pass.

I like Regula, prefer him over 5 for sure and C Jones
I would let Regula play his natural side and if push came to shove, I'd be willing to bet Vlasic would still look better than Regula is they were both playing the LD position |

You only have 2 right handed shots on the roster, S. Jones and Murphy, with Mitchell out. All the rest are lefties, C. Jones, Johnson, Stillman, (before McCabe comes back in 4-6 weeks). No need to play Regula on his off side. Another lefty with pro experience is Phillips. He looked very good last night also. |
