I realize all that, still do not think he gets you a 2nd. We shall see. - furio16
As long as he gets of the books is fine with me. |

JVR with 3 million left on his contract at the trade deadline will be very movable.
JVR with 7 million on his contract at the beginning of the season is not movable. - WhiskeyMan
1 of the few good moves by CF, holding onto JVR

Then it is going to get ugly for us, because Torts is all about blocking shots.
Having said that, I agree completely. - MBFlyerfan

When is Tortorella getting behind the bench? Chuck hoping his sideshow will get the attention away from the expected poor results |

What makes you think Chuck will trade any of them? Then who is going to overpay for any of them? They are all complimentary players on real teams. I have no issue moving any of them at the end of the day. - furio16
If you go back to my original post on this, I don't want to see Chuck making these moves. What you could see is Richards/Carter type trades where teams look to supplement their cup contending core and you get cheaper vets/picks. Teams can be taken when they think they're one move from a cup. |

Only problem is they do not have a Richards/Carter type player who has that value.

I think teams would pay a good price for Provy or TK TBH. Also Bee if he's healthy. Not advocating the trade but something to think about. |

So you are telling me that you know for a fact that Chucky didn't try to trade JVR or if he did, teams didn't ask for draft picks as well.
I am sure Chucky tried to move him but was not willing to give up picks. JVR will be worth more at the trade dealine.
I am getting sick and tired of the arm chair GM's on this site, it's like they think they know more or better. If they did they should be a GM and not some dumbass sitting in a chair.

Setting expectations. It’s a point of view that says a lot about our current management team. |

He can be moved at the TDL but it will take shrewd GMing or a desperate team to give up a 2nd. Toronto realized that JVRs value was almost exclusively tied to the PP.
His ice time was managed with about 65% of his starts being in the OZ. Even with that, his offensive metrics were near the bottom on the team. Net front presence is harder to establish and maintain in the POs making JVR less effective.
The Wild overpaid by giving up a 3rd for DLo. They were a desperate team. Struggling in the last 20 games, teams were taking shots at Kaprizov and Fiala. Greenway was out and Foligno was playing hurt. So Guerin overpaid but the team righted things after the trade. So the Flyers need a desperate team to get a 2nd. It’s not likely Fletcher goes predator like Poile to play someone.

It will be different at the deadline with 50% retention. Then the acquiring team will only have to pay him around $540,000 in salary. - Feanor
JVR is an interesting case this season. It's a contract year for him. Last time around, he posted career high in goals at 36. I know it's been said that he's came into camp in excellent shape, add in a new head coach with a high standard, I'm curious to see if this is a big year for him. If he has a big year, it's something that could raise his stock and make him desirable come the deadline. Chuck needs all the help he can get when it comes to the negotiating table. |
