Jesus Christ you guys are arguing just to argue ffs. They’ve always provided projections. Most of the times in the past they’ve been off the mark but not by an overly significant amount. These ones are likely going to change as well. That’s all I’m saying. Jesus. - TurdFergeson
No you aren't and you have being saying the opposite of that the last few weeks.
You told me teams only go off the cap today even for long term contracts. |

Had an interesting chat with a bar owner at the end of the summer.
Mrs. Wedgie and I were both working in the office on a Friday. We snuck out early and met at a place in the financial district for drinks and appi’s.
We got there around 3, so got seats at the bar (we both prefer to sit at the bar - more action). Place was still empty.
Got talking to the owner - he told us it’s barely worth his while anymore to open on Fridays, because nobody works downtown on Fridays anymore.
Pre-covid, it was his best night.
Another interesting tidbit: he said his Saturdays are much better post-covid, and it’s from tourists. He has tons more tourists from before. His only guess was he thinks it’s because they’ve built up great reviews online. - Atomic Wedgie
Makes sense. I wonder if it's going to change at all moving forward though. My wife is in twice per week at a huge office/employer downtown and they've just firmed up their post-pandemic office attendance plan. Another good friend works at RBC downtown and October 1 is their 'new plan' start date. She hasn't been to the office in 30 months and now will be going 2-3 times per week. Banks, law firms, insurance companies ...the big employers are starting to firm up those post-pandemic plans.

I was one of the 1% who couldn’t wait to get back to the office.
I’ve realized what I really wanted was to go back to the way it was - and that’s not coming back.
We are “2-3 days in the office” - which means “1-2.”
I go in, hoping for some human interaction, and I’m the only one there. I go to the office and then have video meetings.
The only thing I like about the office now is going to the gym at lunch. |

Ya, I agree. I'm no futurist but one day we'll be watching the Leafs-Habs in some Tron-like environment. Or maybe our kids will.
The near future though ...I'd be surprised with any meaningful change. People still love going out. (frank), we don't do it enough. Maybe the venues themselves change and offer more ...if for no other reason than drinking $20 beers and taking that cliche selfie with the ice in the background. - The Law
Have to say I’m less interested in going to big venue events - has less to do with diseases and more to do with generally disliking people. Still very interested in travel. May change my mind for SC final |

Jesus. Most of the homes in Florida hit by the hurricane don’t have flood insurance. Generally, most homes don’t but those in the flood plain can get it through FEMA. Less than half of those hit did. And less than 10% of houses outside the flood plain have flood insurance.
Most people rebuilding will have have to rebuild to higher and more expensive codes as well. |

Now that I know Gio is willing to flip sides I’m truly liking this Sandin signing…. Same $ as Liljegren as it should be.
Now will it be Gio flipping back and forth on the bottom pairing (once Liljegren is healthy I mean) or will Muzzin not make it and be another Weber on the LTIR?
Ending up with a D like this once Liljegren is good to go
Rielly Brodie
Gio Holl

Was chatting with my dad yesterday and he said he remembers people getting upset about the boards getting ads, then the ice, then the helmets, and now the jersey.
He said don’t be shocked if the NHL jerseys do end up similar to European league jerseys in 20-30 years tops. |

Also once everyone is healthy Either Kerfoot or Engvall and Holl will have to go.

Holl and Gio shouldn't be playing 2nd pairing minutes for anything but short stretches where a key figure is out. And I definitely wouldn't want them playing together in a shutdown capacity.
If Muzzin is out for a long stretch, I'd rather see something like this:
Rielly-Liljegren
Gio-Brodie
Sandin-Holl
I'm hoping Dubas will do something about this debacle which, clearly, is evident in any condiguration. |

If the NHL takes off in popularity down in the US maybe it won’t?
Doubt it tho… look at NASCAR for instance… and I have a bad feeling hockey is looked at with roughly the same popularity in the states |

The owners are typically companies now which answers to their shareholders first not the players or fans. |
